Marian 66, IL Tech 42 (Sabers got 31 pts off 23 Scarlet Hawk turnovers)

Benedictine/Alverno -- Later

With those results, WLC and St. Norbert gain a bit more distance at the top of the NACC. CUW may fall to 4th if Benedictine wins tonight.

Marian 66, Lakeland 60 (Muskies made it closer in the 2nd half, but clutch Saber FT-shooting enabled them to hang on for the win--Paris Harris--18 points)

CUW 64, Dominican 46 (Falcons Obry a double-double --13 pts 11 rebounds)

Rockford 66, CUC 50 (Reigning NACC POTW Davis a double-double --15 pts 14 rebounds; Rockford had a 53-36 rebounding edge and 36 points in the paint to CUC's 16)

St. Norbert/Benedictine is THE key in-NACC match-up 1/29/22.

THIS JUST IN:

All women's NACC squads will be in the conference tournament. (Rationale was to be fair to the squads who didn't play the same number of in-conference games this year-with COVID cancellations and what-not.)

Per NACC site the following 2/19/22 matchups have been cancelled:

WLC/MSOE
IL Tech/Rockford
Benedictine/Aurora
Dominican/CUC
Lakeland/CUW
Edgewood/St. Norbert
Marian/Alverno

Top 2 finishers get 1st round byes.

WLCALUM83

1/29/22 NACC Finals:

#17 WLC 70, Rockford 39
Benedictine 61, St. Norbert 59 (Green Knights, down 11 at half, made a 3rd Qrtr. run to make this one real interesting. IL Eagles held them off at home)

Dominican 62, Marian 41
Lakeland 66, IL Tech 50
Aurora won big over Alverno
Edgewood 56, MSOE 48

With those results, the Warriors are 2 games up on St. Norbert in the loss column-however, with Lakeland, Aurora, St. Norbert and NC Carthage still on the schedule yet, things at the top of the NACC could still change quite a bit.

2 1 22 Results:

#14 WLC 70, Lakeland 49 (Warriors got off to another hot early start, and held on)
St. Norbert all over Alverno
Ditto for Benedictine over CUC
CUW 71, Marian 55
Edgewood 90, IL Tech 54
Aurora 74, MSOE 61 (Spartans got on a 2nd Qrtr scoring run, and after that, led the rest of the way)

And, in the only real tight NACC game tonight-Rockford over Dominican 59-49 (Regents trailed by 13 early, took the lead in the 4th Qrtr and used an 11-2 scoring run over the last 2:36 to seal this one. Davis another double-double 25 pts, 22 rebounds and Regents' clutch FT shooting near the end was the difference here.)

Remaining in-NACC schedule for top 5:

WLC:  vs. Aurora, vs. Alverno, at IL Tech, at St. Norbert (Spartans and Green Knights, on paper, appear to be the Warriors' toughest matchups yet)
St. Norbert:  at Edgewood, vs. IL Tech, at MSOE, at CUC, vs. WLC
Concordia-WI:  vs. Benedictine, vs. Dominican, at Edgewood, at Alverno
Benedictine:  at Concordia-WI, at IL Tech, vs. Lakeland, at Edgewood
Aurora:  at WLC, vs. Edgewood, vs. Lakeland, vs. Marian, at Rockford

Current #6 NACC seed Edgewood's got a chance to throw a wrench in the works if the WI Eagles were to knock off all 4 top NACC contenders.

WLCALUM83

2/5 NACC Final:

#14 WLC 76, Aurora 69 (WLC, trailing 58-54 at one point, went on an 11-0 scoring run, and then hit their FTs late and hung on for a key in-NACC win at home)
"When you come to the fork in the road, take it."
