Clarke College Tournament final:  Mount Mercy 81, MSOE 60.  :-X  (Clarke site).

MSOE gets Tri-State tomorrow.

Another women's final.

Rockford beats Concordia-Ann Arbor, 63-53 in the Regents' own tournament. (per Regents' website.)

WLCALUM83

Final:  McMurry, TX 76, CU-Chicago 57. McMurry got to the line almost twice as much, and the Cougars had a boatload of turnovers.  They cut it down to 8 early in the second, but McMurry always answered with points of their own.

12/29 finals:

Tri-State 73, MSOE 69  per Clarke site. (MSOE"s Chappell become's Raider all-time leading scorer, TSU came from behind.)

North Park 62, Rockford College 52. per Rockford site.  North Park outshot Rockford from the field, Regents had plenty of turnovers.

Whitman 29, WLC 20 at halftime.

WLCALUM83

Whitman beat WLC women by 12 points. Warriors had it down to 6 late, but could get no closer, were never really in sync offensively.

WLCALUM83

12/30 final:

Beloit 64, Lakeland 39  (Cold shooting and an early 11-2 Beloit run did the Muskies in, per Beloit web-site.)

WLC/Whitworth yet to come in:

WLCALUM83

Final:  Whitworth 74, WLC 58.  :( (Warrior women take the 0-fer out West.).

WLCALUM83

12/30 "leftover" final:  MSOE 54, Clarke 53.

1/3/07 NathCon WBB projections:

Concordia-WI over Lakeland  (Muskie's shooting to this point has been inconsistent--they could still win if CUW comes out flat after the Falcons' layoff.)

MSOE over Alverno. (MSOE's got a second player to help out Chappell scoring-wise in their wins-either Guthrie or another player). This poster doesn't think the Inferno's that much worse than last year, the 2 in-conference teams Alverno beat last season got that much better.

WLCALUM83

Final:  Concordia-WI 66, Lakeland 53. (Mayyou 9-15 from floor, 22 pts.)

1/3/07 Non-Conference Finals:

MSOE 57, Alverno 45. (Per MSOE site:  Raiders shot 74% in 2nd half to overcome a half-time deficit. Chappell and Jungbluth provided most of the scoring punch. Alverno 6-19 from FT line.)  :-X :-X :-X

Benedictine 68, Judson 60, OT. (Per Judson site, Judson led most of regulation, but Benedictine hit several 3's in OT to put the game away).

WLCALUM83

1/05/07 Non-Conference Finals:

Dominican 85, Meredith 67. (Per box score off Meredith site, Dominican outscored Meredith 57-29 in 2nd half, and also out-rebounded Meredith 49-28).

Lakeland 67, Clarke 62. (Per Lakeland press release, Boehm had a 28-point night (11-16 shooting), Muskies shot 48% from the floor, (they've had much worse than that this season).

:) ;) :D :) ;) :D

1/06/07 projections:

Aurora over Marian:  (Sabers can pull off the upset if they create enough turnovers and get enough points off them.)

Concordia-WI over Rockford; (Falcons' balance appears to be just a bit much for Rockford-if the Regents bring their "A" game and CUW comes out flat, the better Rockford's chances).

Benedictine over Concordia-Chicago (this figures to be the closest of the 3--Benedictine lost one of its' better guards to injury. The Cougars have been outrebounding opponents on the offensive glass, but they need to be more consistent on FT shooting and tighten up the D a bit.)

WLCALUM83

Final:  Concordia-WI 54, Rockford College 46.

CUW:  Ruppe and Ensign in double figures scoring.

Rockford:  2nd half scoring drought cost them. Angie Butler had to leave the game with 4 minutes left after being hit in the face during a scramble for a loose ball. Per CUW broadcasters, she was seen on the bench near the end of the game with an icepack underneath one eye. CUW's depth wore the Regents down as the game continued.

2 more 1/06/07 finals:

Marian 73, Aurora 61.  :o ??? :o ???  (per Marian box score, Marian outshot Aurora from the field, and the Sabers had 35 points off turnovers, compared to 18 for the Spartans.)

Benedictine 73, Concordia-Chicago 72.  (per Benedictine web site, Eagles won it on a Curtis put-back basket at the buzzer). :) ;)

Marian over Aurora??? Now I'm confused. I guess it just goes to show that anythingcan happen!
