I believe that decision came from the athletic director. There's definitely a lot of pressure on their program right now. I don't see them getting it turned around this year. This could be it for Botham.

Not at all. There is no athletic director there, George Koonce got fired. There's an interim in place.

All of the assistants left cause it's a mess.

To be fair, Koonce resigned.  His wife passed away from cancer last October, leaving him the sole care-giver for his two children. He decided he could not hold down an AD position with the larger family committment.

"That seems silly and pointless..." - Hoops Fan

The first and still most accurate description of the D3 Championship BeltTM thread.

He was asked to resign. They allowed him to leave with some public dignity but all the "reasons" will never come out. He was in so far over his head the department was headed to the tank. There's a reason he was initially fighting his "leave" and then decided he needed to spend time with his family. I have great sympathy for his personal situation but he was dismissed from his job and given the opportunity to save face.

Neither here nor there ... I just think Emily Decorah is better off staying at Edgewood.

has anyone heard that Rachel Diedrich of alverno is transferring to lakeland?

Saw her name listed on Lakeland's women's volleyball roster.

Roof's move inspired players to transfer.  Gifford is now at Concordia in Mequon, WI.

GPops

If anything it's the reverse as Becky Gifford decided to transfer long before Roof left Aurora.

One for the "Opening Night Good News/Not So Good News" Dept.

Edgewood beats Elmhurst by 6, but the WI Eagles' Amber Hemp rolls an ankle toward the end of the first half--Ouch!
