Correct me if I'm wrong here:

One more WLC win, and a loss by Alverno and/or Lakeland, and the Warriors clinch a NAthCon tournament spot. The Warriors can help themselves big-time with a win tonight. (They own the tie-breaker advantage over Alverno, and have beaten Lakeland and Edgewood once to this point.)

I'd kind of like to see Alverno get in--(McComb's had a knack of hitting impeccably timed 3s in the clutch of late.)

Ditto for CUC and Marche Smith--(Cougars would have to get hot, and it would also depend on how many other players step it up for them from here on out.)

Final just in:

WLC 60, Lakeland 58  (E Laete got a clutch bucket on the Warriors' last possesion to give them all the cushion they needed, per Warrior PBP audio feed)

WLCALUM83

Alverno 10, CUW 7  10 1/2 min left 1st half

WLCALUM83

Alverno 16, CUW 15  Half (That is not a misprint, folks)

Both teams are shooting less than 25% from floor so far-per Inferno stats)

WLCALUM83

Alverno 24, CUW 23  11 1/4 min left 2nd half

CUW 38, Alverno 35  Final

If my figuring is right, WLC clinched a spot in the NAthCon playoffs tonight (having now swept both Alverno and Lakeland)

NAthCon teams still in the thick of the hunt for a conference playoff spot:

North:  Edgewood, Marian, Alverno, Lakeland
South:  Benedictine, Rockford, CUC, MSOE,

Remaining schedules:

North:

Edgewood:  vs. Aurora, @ Marian, vs. Alverno, @ WLC, @ Lakeland
2 wins and 2 losses by Marian/Alverno/Lakeland, and the
WI Eagles are in. Edgewood has already beaten the         other 3 squads once

Marian:         @ Dominican, vs. Edgewood, vs. Lakeland, @ Alverno
Alverno:        @ Rockford, vs. Maranatha, @ Edgewood, vs. Marian
Lakeland:      @ Benedictine, @ CUW, vs. Maranatha, @ Marian, vs.  EC

Question:  How healthy will the Muskies be for today's game? Toward the end of the WLC/Lakeland feed, this poster heard the Warrior announcers indicating that the Muskie squad has been beset with injuries (R Diedrich, for one, had to sit out the Warrior game the other night). Marian appears to have the toughest  schedule, (at least on paper).

Alverno has to keep hounding on D, and continue to keep other teams from repeatedly fast-breaking on them--- Alverno's remaining schedule (on paper) doesn't appear to be as tough as Lakeland's--but--

South:

Benedictine:  vs. Lakeland, @ CUC, vs. MSOE, @ Rockford, vs. Dominican
Rockford:  vs. Alverno, @ Dominican, vs. Benedictine, vs. MSOE
CUC:           @ Maranatha, vs. Benedictine, @ MSOE, vs. Aurora
MSOE:         @ WLC, vs. Aurora, @ Benedictine, vs. CUC, @ Rockford

MSOE has beaten CUC once, so the re-match may be important if the Cougars are still alive then, in order for them not to lose out on the last South spot on tie-breakers on head-to-head alone.  MSOE--keep Cayo out of foul trouble, hope 3-shooters are hitting (how will WLC come out of the gate today, knowing the Warriors have clinched a playoff spot?)--a Raider loss, and they'll be hoping Maranatha gets off the in-conference schneid today.

CUC-- How many players can step up to assist Smith with point production?

If Benedictine's outside shooters go into a prolonged slump, things could get interesting,-- IL Eagles now own the tie-breaker over Rockford, having beaten the Regents earlier. 3 of Rockford's last 4 games are at home (let's see how well the Regents crash the boards today and how well they hold Allen, McComb & Co in check)

One final already in-per Dominican site:

Dominican 82, Marian 68  (Now the Sabers are hoping for Lakeland and Alverno losses)

One other score:

Edgewood 33, Aurora 29  Half
