Not to knock my own squad yet again, but I wonder how high that ranking would be had the Warriors lost to UW-Whitewater earlier this season.

Pat (or anyone else out there):

Just noted a "slippery floor/" issue on the NAthCon men's board:

Suppose this issue comes up again, does the Warrior/Crusader women's game still absolutely have to be played? (not much on the line, not worth getting anyone hurt)

WLC/Maranatha womens' game rescheduled to 7:15 pm tomorrow nite-per MBBC site;

Congratulations to Wisconsin Lutheran's Erika Laete on scoring her 1,000th career point today.

(Special thanks to the Dominican live stats and Wisconsin Lutheran's audio call of the game for the info.)

Update on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011:  Laete became the 13th WLC player to reach the 1,000 pt club on a jumper from the paint with 8:24 left in regulation to give Laete points 34 and 35 of the day.   Laete came into the Dominican game needing 35 points to reach 1,000 for her career.

This correction was made after reading the play by play sheet:

Play by play of the WLC at Dominican game from Feb. 19, 2011

When listening to the game, I was led to believe by the internet PBP guy from WLC  that Laete needed 39 points for the milestone-- she only needed 35 pts.

The second made free throw by Laete with 4:58 left in regulation gave Laete her 39th point of the day.

Game update in the #1 seed vs #2 seed NathCon Challenge:

End of regulation

Wisconsin Lutheran 80, Dominican 80

Game update:  Wisconsin Lutheran 91, Dominican 91   1:47 left to play in OT.

Final:  Wisconsin Lutheran 96, Dominican 91  (OT).

Wisconsin Lutheran was trailing by as much as 15 in the second half  (that occurring with 11:53 left in regulation) and trailed most of the game before rallying to tie the game at the end of regulation.

WLC's Erika Laete had a career high 50 pt, 15 rebound effort to lead the Warriors.

Laete shot 22 of 34 from the field, 0-0 from 3 pt land, and 6 of 9 from the charity stripe for her 50 pts.  In the process, she scored her 1,000th point with 4:58 to go in regulation on a made free throw.

WLC's Rachel Johnson had 20 pts on 9 of 13 from the field, 0-0 from 3 pt land, and 2-3 from the charity stripe.

WLC's Shavon Dillon had 11 pts for the day of 5-12 from the field shooting, 0-0 from 3 pt land, and 2-3 from the FT line.

For Dominican--

Katie Budz scored a team high 30 points on 9-15 from the field, 4-5 from 3 pt land, and 8-8 from the line to lead the Stars.

WLC shot 42 of 77 for the game (54.5% FG), 0 of 4 from 3 pt land, and 12 of 23 from the charity stripe.  (52.2% FT-- it seems amazing to me that WLC rallied for the victory with that FT percentage....)

Dominican shot 30 of 72 for the game (41.7%), 9 of 24 from 3 pt land, and 22 of 33 from the charity stripe.

WLC outrebounded Dominican, 45-40 for the game.

WLC had 19 assists and 14 turnovers, while Dominican had 17 assists and 13 turnovers.

This was my first time watching a NathCon game on line, and I second the nomination by the NathCon SIDs of Erika Laete to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week based on her performance today.

WLC proved their character today after a very sluggish first half to rally to win.....

WLC picked up their 22nd win of the season-- a new program record, and extends their program record winning streak to 11 games.

WLCALUM83

That 50 pt output - a new NAthCon record for most points scored in a single game-exceeds a 45 point output Concordia-Chicago's Marche Smith had earlier this season.

Looks like 3 of the 4 challenge games involving NAC Tournament teams will not matter for seeding. What's the point of the challenge game again? I don't know either.

Play by play sheet of the game at Dominican from Feb. 19, 2011

WLC's Erika Laete's 50 point performance is the highest single game point performance in NCAA DIII Women's hoop this season.

+K to WLCALUM83 in honor of WLC's come from behind effort at Dominican-- not only rallying back from a 15 point deficit in regulation, but also rallying back after trailing most of the overtime as well.

I updated my post entitled Reply #1003 in the NathCon forum earlier today, Sunday, Feb. 20, to note the exact moment that Erika Laete accomplished the milestone to join the WLC 1,000 Point club.
