I hope you all stick around for the season. This has been a rather dull message board in recent history.

I'll pop in from time to time.

Little surprised to see Benedictine in the 2 spot in the South, I dont think they will finish that high, but we shall see.

North is about what I anticipated, I would probably flop Marian and Maranatha, I think MBBC makes the conference tourney this year with all the returning players who have been together for a couple years now.

I, too, would like to see MBBC get in -- it'd be a nice statement for DeLozier, Peotter & Co just before the Crusaders leave the NAthCon.

Any updates on any of the NAC exhibition games from the last couple weeks?  games start for real this week, just wondering what some of the teams out there are looking like?

Only thing on the NAC site was CUC at Illinois, which is not a good judgement of how a team will be.

Just Bill

CUC is the only one who had an exhibition game, that's why they are on the schedule. The others have had scrimmages, but I don't know who played who or where.

Lakeland scrimmaged Cardinal Stritch and Stevens Point. Those are some tough opponents, the former being an NAIA school and the latter being a perennial power house in the nation's best conference along with having a preseason first team All-American.  LC learned a lot about toughness and their freshmen got a taste of what it will be like at this level.

One thing I did notice that I was unaware of, is when looking at CUC Exhibition game, I noticed in the box score Kristina Ryckett, there top player from last year.  Based on last years roster I was under the assumption that she was a senior, and now she is back? Plus the addition of Genke, I believe this will be a tough team this year in the NAC with Ryckett back and Genke playing next to her.

11/18:

Alverno vs. St. Catherine's or Mt. Mary

I'll take a crack at tonights games and try to update the weekends games after I have more time to look into the matchups.

Marian over Lawrence: more interested in Marians stats than the outcome, assuming an easy win for Marian, would like to see who will produce for them aside from Alberts three's

Beloit over Rockford: can't imagine Rockford any better this year, specially without Curry.  Beloit has enough returning talent to win this fairly easily, plus I heard they got a big time recruit who spurned most NAC teams as well as some DII schools.

Elmhurst over Dominican: tough matchup for DU, a good team from a really good conference, to much turnover at DU this year, Elmhurst pulls away late with more experience and a much deeper bench.

Good games to kickoff the season, can't wait till this weekends matchups, we should learn a lot.

WLCALUM83

Final:  Marian 64, Lawrence 60

Sabers came out of the gate slow and at one point trailed by 14 in the first half. 2nd half, Marian made some adjustments on O (in terms of inside-outside ball movement) and built up a double-digit lead itself. Lawrence made it close toward the end, but Marian's late clutch FT-shooting enabled them to open up with a win on the road.

Marian's Cerveny hit a few 3s in the first half, and Huray was able to get baseline penetration for hoops several times in the second half.

NACfan215

3 for 3 on opening night.

Marian v Lawrence: see above

Rockford drops a game on the road at Beloit, tie game at half turns into a 12 point loss for Rockford, Beloit experienced guards just to much.

Dominican blown out of the gym at Elmhurst 90-47, this was basically over from the tip.

Aurora at Bluffton: Aurora may be better this year, but not enough to beat their HCAC opponent here.

Edgewood at Dubuque: Toss up. Depth issues plagued the Eagles last year and should bounce back this year.

Benedictine vs Chicago (at Ripon): Chicago lost a lot of production but they should be able to take care of Benedictine.

Lakeland at St. Norbert: Should be an interesting matchup to say the least.

Hamline at Wisconsin Lutheran: I will be at the game (both games actually today). I think WLC can duplicate last seasons results again this year despite losing Johnson, Newberger, and Kuehl (UW-O).

MSOE at North Park: MSOE is taking a step back this year after losing Cayo to graduation.

Concordia Chicago vs Luther: Toss up....
