Here's some positive PR news regarding Inferno Coach Duckworth and one of his players:

(Aretha Franklin's "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" playing)  :) :) :)

Edgewood has named their three head coach finalists:

Surprised that with "300 applicants" this is the group they narrowed it down to. Thought it was a better job than that

300 applicants doesn't mean 300 good applicants.  I think it's a pretty strong group all in all.  I'd wager the Bethel coach has the best shot since he's been a head coach for some time. Although Thousand being local (and a female) might have a chance.

Gotta hand it to those ex-Lakeland assistant-coaches--they have a penchant for passing that good "Muskie Mojo" along after leaving Howards Grove--(witness the improvement at Alverno last season--)

"Aurora University was predicted to win the 2009-10 Northern Athletics Conference women's basketball South Division while Concordia University Wisconsin was predicted to win the North Division title, according to the preseason coaches' poll."

Concordia Wisc has been one of the best teams in this conference for a while now.  They put two WIAC teams on their schedule this year - one of the best and one of the worst WIAC teams - and no MWC teams.  Just goes to show that coaches care less about competition and more about number of wins to increase the chances of getting an NCAA bid.

About Concordia's schedule, I am not completely sold they wanted Point on their schedule.  I know for most of these bigger holiday tournaments there is not a lot of say between who plays who.  Most teams sign up for tournaments without knowing who is going to be in them, then get assigned games.  Concordia could have requested Point on their schedule when they found out who was there, but I really doubt it since they haven't played a scheduled game in quite a while.

Or the number of wins to get the next coaching job

Opening in-conference Women's NAthCon final:

Concordia-WI over Marian 78-35  (Marian's Moody did not return to the roster this year-as for the game, Saber press release indicates Marian shot 26% from the floor and CUW had a 51-26 rebounding advantage).  (Marian also had a coaching change).
