Wisconsin Lutheran 74
Rockford 66

Final

Sloppy win for the Warriors

7/18 free throw shooting for the Warriors compared to 28/34 for the Regents...That is the only thing that kept Rockford close in this game.

Final:  Edgewood 66, Lakeland 64
(Tobin hit 2 FTs with 7 seconds left, Muskies' Hendricks missed a 3-pointer at the end of this one.)

Other finals:

CUC 74, Aurora 56 (Cougars stop a 6-game losing streak)

Alverno 60, Marian 52 (Sabers lose despite hitting 9 3s for the game)

Benedictine 64, Dominican 58

With tonight's results, CUW, Alverno and Edgewood are all tied at the top of the  North with 6-2 records, with Maranatha and Lakeland still in close distance.

Edgewood plays some very strong defense. That will serve them well through out the season if they can keep it up.

I agree on that. When the Eagles played Marian at home  the Sabers were repeatedly having to launch several desparation shots to avoid shot-clock violations in the first half because of that defense.

1/10/13:

Alverno/MSOE:   Alverno

Dominican/CUC:  Cougars eke out another one.

Maranatha/Edgewood:  Eagles (depends on how many points Crusaders get off turnovers)

CUW/Marian:  Falcons

Just like that Dominican went from three up at half to being 8 down as the CUC went on a 16-5 run to start the second half.

Dominican still hanging around down six thanks to CUC not hitting any of their three point attempts (0/8).

EDIT: Dominican retakes the lead 46-42 as the Stars went on a 16-2 run.

Edgewood leads Maranatha 42-38 with 11:33 left.

1/12 Picks

Lakeland at Concordia Chicago: Taking the Muskies on the road. Muskies can't really afford a slip up if the race in the North division continues to be tight as it is.

Edgewood at Benedictine: Watched most of the Eagles game against Maranatha last night and I was impressed with their defense and their clutch shots whenever the Crusaders got close. I'll take Edgewood in a close one at home.

Concordia Wisconsin at Aurora: I take the Falcons on the road here.

Maranatha at Dominican: Dominican has showed some signs of life in the last few games but the Crusaders bounce back with a win.

MSOE at Rockford: MSOE has also showed some signs of life recently too. However I'll take the Regents in a close one.

Marian at Wisconsin Lutheran: Warriors rebound from that sloppy win against Rockford Tuesday night with a big win at the REX.

My guesses:

Same except I'm going to go with MSOE over Rockford (prior to Dominican, this is the Raiders' best chance to get off the in-conference schneid).

Edgewood/Benedictine up shortly:
