Halftine:  Marian 30, Lakeland 28   (Sabers have hit a lot of 3s, Lakeland's Jandrin already has 12 pts.)

WLCALUM83

Final:  Lakeland 73, Marian 61  (Lakeland's D forced several key turnovers on a couplle of Huray penetration attempts, and then the Muskies hit their FTs to seal this one, which was closer than the final score indicates.)

Marian now has to win out and hope both MBBC and Lakeland lose out, (Lakeland owns the tiebreaker on Marian).

NAthCon North contenders' remaining schedules:

Alverno:  vs. WLC, vs. MSOE, at Marian, at Dominican, at CUW
Edgewood:  at MBBC, vs. Lakeland, at Rockford, vs. MSOE
MBBC:   vs. BU, vs. Edgewood, at MSOE, at Aurora, at Marian
Lakeland:  vs. Aurora, at Edgewood, at MSOE

Should Lakeland and MBBC tie, the Muskies would get the advantage, having swept the Crusaders;
If Alverno and Edgewood tie, the Inferno get the higher seed, having swept the IL Eagles head to head
If MBBC and Alverno tie, the Crusaders get the advantage, having won both meetings.

Edgewood beat both Lakeland and MBBC earlier.

Did they relocate Edgewood College? ;)

For the South it goes....

Concordia Chicago (7-6)
Aurora (4-9)
Rockford (3-10)
Dominican (1-12)

Remaining Schedules

CUC: at Marian, at Dominican, vs MSOE, at Benedictine
AU: at Lakeland, at Rockford, vs Maranatha, vs Wisconsin Lutheran
RC: at Concordia Wisconsin, vs Aurora, vs Edgewood, vs Dominican
DU: at MSOE, vs Concordia Chicago, vs Alverno, at Rockford

CUC needs one win to clinch a tournament spot.
AU has the toughest schedule of the four and could be on the outside looking in come conference tournament time.
Rockford could sneak their way in if they beat Aurora and Dominican.
Despite all their troubles, Dominican still has a shot (albeit a long one) to make the conference tournament. They need to win out and hope both Rockford and Aurora lose out (which is possible).

They play each other though. Someone has to win that game.

In that case they need Rockford to win that game.

Edgewood beat both Lakeland and MBBC earlier.

I believe LC would also have the tiebreaker with EC assuming they both finish 10-8 (the only possible record LC can have to tie EC) which means LC would have to win out the last 3 games, which in return would mean they beat EC along the way to even the season series.  So then based on the 3rd or 4th tiebreak rule (cant remember how far down the line) LC would gain the final spot in the NAC Tourney for the North.

#1224
Marian 36, CUC 33  1 second left 1st half.

(Stat of note:  38 free throws already attempted combined.)

WLCALUM83

#1225
CUC 57, Marian 53  Approx. 2 1/4 min. left 2nd half

Updates on other games:

CUW 53, Rockford 42  Final

Lakeland 65, Aurora 52  Final

(If my math is correct, Lakeland's win eliminates Marian, regardless of whether the Sabers stage a late rally or not. Best Marian can do is tie Lakeland, and the Muskies swept the Sabers head to head).

CUC clinches a spot in the tournament with their win over Marian as well. Which leaves us with four spots (North 3, South 1) that are still up for grabs.

Final just in:

Maranatha 70, Benedictine 56  (IL Eagles, down 11 at half, started out the 2nd on a 16-3 run, but the Crusaders answered by drawing a lot of fouls, turning up the D and converting their FTs, ) The Crusaders are now tied with Edgewood for 3rd in the North.

This makes Edgewood's next 2 games (at Maranatha, vs. Lakeland) that much more important.

Captain_Joe08

Wisconsin Lutheran with a quick 8-0 lead over Alverno. Schulz has six of WLC's eight points.

Though I am pleasantly enjoying the Alverno broadcasting crew.

These Alverno color commentator guys are hilarious. WLC leads Alverno 18-10 with 7.5 minutes left in the first half.
