If Maranatha is victorious tonight over MSOE that would mean they finally go the conference tournament for the first time since the Nath-Con has been around (First time since the 05-06 season which was the final season of the LMC).

Final:

Maranatha 64, MSOE 35   (I'm happy for the Crusader seniors-- it was only 2 seasons ago that they were on a squad that had won only 1 in-conference game all season-- NAthCon COY could be a tight race this time.)

"And then there were two" in the North

Edgewood:    at Rockford, vs. MSOE
Lakeland:      at MSOE

Correct me if I'm wrong, if the squads finish in a tie, the Muskies get the spot-having split with Alverno, while the Eagles lost to the Inferno twice.

In the South:

Aurora:   vs. Maranatha,  vs. WLC
Rockford:  vs. Edgewood, vs. Dominican

Regents and Spartans split head-to-head.   Aurora can help itself with a win over Maranatha. (The Crusaders beat Rockford earlier).  I won't go any further until tomorrow's finals are in.

Now that the Crusaders are in- about their 05-06 playoffs, They started off on the road at Alverno and won a tight game, (the Crusaders' Amber Lange hit several free-throws toward the end to seal the win) -- but the run ended in their next game when they got beat at Lakeland..

There was one year Maranatha made a deeper run, though, 1998-99 when as a #7 seed they beat Edgewood, and then WLC, before losing to Lakeland in the tournament final.

Rockford wins that tiebreaker. All results are the same until you get down to the comparison vs. Dominican. AU went 1-1 vs. DU, RC went 2-0.

2/8 Afternoon finals:

WLC 81, CUW 67   (A win on the road at Aurora, and the Warriors run the regular season table)

BU 69, Marian 54
MBBC 81, AU 69    (More incentive for the Inferno vs. Dominican tonight).
CUC 61, MSOE 40

(Brace yourselves for this one, folks)

Rockford 64, Edgewood 63  (Ryczek hit 1 of 2 FTs, and then a last-second shot by Pope missed, per Regent PBP acct)

Edgewood and Lakeland both play MSOE, the Eagles at home 2/12, Lakeland on the road 2/13.

Captain Joe 08, you sure were right about it being a wild ride in the North. Edgewood's going to have to sweat it out.

Was at the Winterfest game today and it was a typical WLC-CUW matchup...WLC got out to an early lead and CUW comes back then WLC edges out to a 32-26 halftime lead. Then CUW goes on a run to lead by seven but WLC chips away at the lead. Both teams traded the lead for a few minutes before WLC pulls away late for the big win. Dillion scored 29 points to lead all scores. Warriors clinch home court throughout the conference tournament.

I have no doubt in my mind these two teams will meet again to decide the conference tournament in two weeks. Both of them are playing their best basketball to date.

Yep Edgewood prolly squandered their best chance to clinch a tournament spot. Now they hope that MSOE pulls the big upset. It's turning into the South division in the men (2-4 separated by 1/2 game).

Dominican leads Alverno 27-23 at Halftime.

Both teams are not shooting the ball well (Alverno sub 30%).

With the results today here is the seeding for the Nath-Con Tournament (with one conference game remaining)

1. Wisconsin Lutheran 21-2 (16-0)
2. Concordia Wisconsin 17-7 (14-3)
3. Maranatha 16-5 (12-5) (will lock up seed with win against Marian...Owns Head-to-Head Tiebreaker over Alverno)
4. Benedictine 12-12 (10-6)
5. Alverno 15-9 (12-5) (Needs a win and a Maranatha Loss to get a higher seed)
6. Concordia Chicago 10-14 (10-6)
7. Rockford 7-17 (5-11) (One game up on Aurora and owns tiebreaker over the Spartans due to common opponents)
8. Lakeland 11-13 (9-8) (gets the nod due to better record against common opponents (Maranatha LC 2-0, EC 1-1))

I believe if it stays as is, Rockford would be the 7 seed and LC would be the 8th as Rockford won the regular season matchup between the two? If I have the seeding theory correct?

Yep. They get the head to head nod there. Lakeland was the last team to beat WLC in the conference tournament (on the road for that matter as well).

2/12-13 docket:  Final push to the regular season finish line.

2/12:  MSOE/Edgewood:    Going with the Eagles. (moreso after the Pat Summit-like pep talk they'll probably get).
MBBC/Marian:         Crusaders  (as long as they pound the ball inside and don't get lulled into just shooting 3s.)

2/13 :  Alverno/CUW:        Falcons in a tight one
WLC/Aurora:          WLC (could be closer than expected, however)
Dominican/RC:       Regents seal the last South playoff spot (Stars can make it interesting if they're hitting on 3s)
CUC/BU:                IL Eagles take another tight one (more depth on bench).
LC/MSOE:              How much will the Raiders have left in the tank?  Muskies take this one.
