Hats off to the Crusaders for a very good season. Morrison could be in the running for COY in the conference.

IMHO Brad Duckworth of Alverno is also in the running. The Inferno weren't expected to qualify for the conference playoffs.
I'll talk more on post-season awards after tonight's finals come in.

It'll be a tight race between Duckworth and Morrison for the award.  What helped in Duckworth's case was the return of K Schaeren gave him more depth on the bench toward the end. All of the Inferno starters logged at least 28 minutes per game in-conference. (Speerschneider logged in just a shade over 38 minutes per game). 2 other Inferno players were in the top 11 in that category. That Gorman kid was consistent for him, too, game after game.

Morrison, in contrast A) had a core group of players (Peterson, DeLozier and Peotter) that got to know his system for at least 3 seasons. B) Though he had a bit more depth on his bench than Alverno, 4 of his 5 starters also put in at least 30 minutes per game in-conference.  C) He had several better than average shot-blockers to work with as well.

Yeah. Figured they'd get the win. The big one was RC beating EC last Saturday. Do to my WIAC commitments I won't be able to make it to Saturday's game. Here's to hoping for an LC upset.

I'll try to be there. It depends how sore I am after my match earlier in the day. I think WLC will win but can't really underestimate a team that has been on a roll recently like Lakeland.

Also WLC and Lakeland have had some great battles in the conference tournaments over the years dating back to the LMC.

My take on "what the statistics can't tell you".

Teams with least to lose:  MBBC and Alverno (neither were projected to get this far to begin with)

Teams I'd fear the most on their emotion/momentum:   Lakeland and Maranatha.  (Muskies have the potential inside-outside balance to do some damage.  Crusaders get a home game, and their 6th man can get pretty loud).

If Rockford upsets CUW ---

I was thinking about that for Lakeland....WLC needs to do what they did when they beat them earlier in the season and they will be fine. It will be something if Maranatha makes it to the finals in their final season in the conference...prolly the best feel good story so far. I still see WLC as the favorite in the tournament. I will elaborate later today on the conference tournament participants (when I am not busy with class work.).
