Not many posters on this board. I'll start some conversation and see what picks up. CNU has a pre-season All-American in Chelsea Schweers. She is the only Sophomore named. Her first game this year she drops in 35. I don't see many Lady Captain games but will make the effort to see a few games. I doubt I can see any weekday games due to working in Norfolk which can be an hours drive during rush hour. Plus, the fans sitting near me prefer I go home to take a shower before coming to games. No reason I can't make weekend games.

I finally got around to looking into the CNU Lady Captains team last night. I see they have 3 new players added since the break. This is an interesting team. I'm going to definately make it to a few games this year.

If I counted right from the men's game day program...the Lady Captains have 16 on the team....2 transfer juniors, the only two returning players in sophomores Moore and All-American Schweers, and 12 Freshmen......and they are 6-2, 1-0 in conference play.

Pat Coleman - keep an eye on these ladies....could be an interesting story down the line!

Lady Captains win another. 7-2. Not bad for a team with only 2 returning players!!

CNU85

Lady Caps win 2 more this weekend. 9-2 and 4-0 in conference.  ;D

CNU85,

My daughter plays for Averett and we got to see the game today.  I am extremely impressed with the CNU team.  They definitely have more than Chelsea Sweers.  She is fantastic but I was very impressed with number 5 and number 22 before she twisted her ankle.  I thnk that CNU is much harder to defend than Greensboro because you have to have 3 to 4 defenders that must defend a player who can beat you on the dribble.  I have not seen any other team in the conference with that many weapons.

CNU85

I saw the end of the game tonight. Ferrum beats CNU 83-81 to give CNU their first conference loss. It was very intense. CNU does have some players other than Schweers. This team is SCARY good! And there are no seniors!! The two returning players from last year are only Sophomores. I'm going to do my best to get to the next home game.

HSC85,

I see your daughter got some game stats against CNU. Congrats - you must be a very proud dad!! I know I would be. I have 2 kids....this week they turned 20 and 18. The 20 yr old, my son - played high school baseball. I was proud watching those games. My 18 yr old is a senior loking at colleges. She is on gymnastics team but will be using her IB brain to get into school. She also is a dancer and has many accomplishments in which I am very proud - including just landing a job as a dancer in a Busch Gardens show. YES - she finally gets paid to dance!!!!

So from one proud dad to another - This Bud's for you!! :D

I guess with all that said CNU must be the favorite to win the conference?
Maybe not after this weekend.  I guess this means Methodist must be the favorite to win the conference, they beat CNU.  Then again maybe it is still GC.

I don't think Greensboro had a hard time shutting down the weapons of CNU.  Although it could be that Greensboro has too many weapons for CNU to defend. I could be wrong though.

CNU85

I think GC is the team to beat this year.....just take notice....CNU is playing good ball with only two returning players and a dozen freshmen.  Hopefully they will stick together for the next several years and build what they have started.

CNU85

I see GC is moving up in the votes...close to being in the top 25.

HSC85

Greensboro is definitely the best team in the conference.  It is nice to see them get some top 25 votes.   GC has many talented players.  The past few games GC has definitely kicked it up a notch.  The conference looks like GC and Ferrum then a fight for 3-6 then a dangerous Peace team and then the rest will contest for the last tournament spot.

CNU85

CNU wins again with Schweers leading the way with 28 pts, 11 boards and 8 steals.

If I did my mental math right - she has made 126 three pointers in 46 games. The CNU career record is 156.
