Brookland

No 1 is Jeannie Devers of Buena Vista with 3,171.
No 4 is Laurie Trow of St Thomas (MN) with 2,607.
C. Schweers is 168 points away from the next spot, or exactly 24 points per game for her remaining 7 regular season games. She is averaging 24.7 ppg so far this season, so I'd say she has an excellent chance to move into the No 4 spot before the season is out.
BTW, all the records can be found at www.NCAA.org. If you enter "records" in the seach box, you'll see a list of all the record books for the different sports.

I think Schweers dropped in 29 tonight.

I knew there was a reason my gut told me to watch Meredith game today.  Schweers, way to go (sorry to steal your thunder CNU85 :) ) 45 points today.  I can't believe this according to CNU's record book, most points in a game.  I thought Schweers would have broken that already.

I hope the SID's from Greensboro and CNU both nominate their school's players for the d3hoops team of the week.

Schweers for her performances this week.  Duncan for her 33 pt 11 reb game.  I hope they both get it.

Although the seeds have yet to be determined:

Greensboro, CNU, and Ferrum have all clinched spots in the USASouth Tournament. (ok not really news)

Methodist will clinch a spot with a win and a Meredith loss.

We will have a pretty good idea after this week is finished the field for the USASouth tournament.  There are tons of conference games this week. (Actually I think the 8 teams will be decided this week, with seeds to be TBD)

I don't think that is correct. I think someone scored 48 points once. I will check.

from CNU website

"She became just the second player in CNU history to score 40 points in more than one game in her career, joining Misty Hart, and the 45 points was just three shy of the all-time best set by Karen Barefoot in 1993."

I didn't think it made sense. Why CNU would exclude the 35+ point performers from the actual record book seems odd.

Looks like that page contains a very narrow time frame, just two seasons or so.

Averett needs to win one game (conference) or losses by both NCWC and Meredith to gurantee a spot.

Mary Baldwin will clinch with a win tomorrow.

28 pts 24 rebounds for Duncan, deserves a d3hoops main page cover story. :)  Especially since Greensboro is one win away from tying the largest turnaround in NCAA d3 history.

Don't think we're going to get a wrapup in today. Too much else going on -- I'm a sports editor in my "day" job and we're pretty busy today. :)

Understandable.  The Super Bowl is over now, no excuses :) .  Headline: "Super Weekend Wrap-up" [Insert Greensboro Story] [insert other strong performances by other teams/players]

Duncan had more points than the Steelers in 20 less minutes. Had more "int's" than the Steelers too. :)

I didn't even watch the Super Bowl this year.  I felt if I watched the game the Steelers would win, it would ruin the good weekend I had. Youtube will have the commercials I missed
