No i don't mean Harris,  all he can do is shot three's.  Yes i know he shoots alot of them but he shot 39% last year that is pretty good for a guy who shot almost 240 three's.

The guy I ment was Eric Latendress.  You might not have seen him play cause he was a transfer and last year was his first year.  He can do about it all.  He stands at 6'1", can shot the three, take people to the hole, post up, and rebound and defend.  He might not have the best numbers but i think he is an all around player.  But of course if Tom Kowalskit could shot the three he could be considered as the top player.

Well hopefully the commisioner and the AD's are hard at work and looking for other teams to join in.   Well they must be working on something big because BBC hasn't joined the PAC yet, and they did get an invitation to join in.  So their must be something that is keeping them in the NEAC

rumor has it Wells College is fielding a Mens Basketball team slated for varsity play in 08 09

would they be in the NEAC as i believe their womens teams compete in the conference??

Pat Coleman

Perhaps not the first year out of the gate -- that would be consistent with some other  schools adding men -- but eventually, sure.

sounds like an uphill battle, but not a bad way to enter your NCAA membership walking into a conference with an automatic qualifier...most new programs struggle to even find a conference.

As I understand it Wells will have a club team in 07-08 and a varsity in 08-09. I'm not even sure they have a gym on campus. The might have to play at a local high school until something is built.

The NEAC will lose both Keystone and Philly Bible after this season, but gain Wells. This conference shifting is crazy. Will it ever settle down??

bballfan44

It probably won't settle down anytime soon.  BBC might move to the PAC league but the NEAC is trying to keep them around, the league is working in on getting more teams to join.  But there might be a while before they announce anything.  But all that matters is that they have enough schools to keep the automatic bid,  having that bid will help the schools and the league get better.

Some of the schedules are out on each school's web pages. I see Keuka is opening at Medaille (a good test) and D'Youville is going to Buffalo State's Tournament (where I'm sure they are playing the hosts in the first round). Cazenovia also plays host to Medaille before Thanksgiving. I saw D'Youville playing in a summer league last night and newcomers looked impressive. Derrick Ware is a ball of energy at the point, and NCCC transfer Charles Walker is long and athletic on the wing. He was the best player on the floor and can score from a number of spots. Returning players looked a bit more confident with solid guys around them ... although I'm not sure how many will be on the roster once they all arrive. Kowalski was solid, but no sign of French. Coach Miller was in the stands watching. I'm sure he feels a little better about his team this season with a full year to recruit.

The news is Kueka lost their head coach..........

WNYHoops

I heard that also, although Wunder is still listed on their web page. The rumor is that Tom Flood, Wunder's top assistant, is taking over the program. No idea what happend here. I felt Wunder did a great job with that program. They have been a contender the past few years ... but did face a rebuilding year this season losing 4 starters.

In other NEAC news, I watched D'Youville win a summer league Monday night. They defeated a group of former Buff State players from a few years back (Konst twins, Josh Becker, etc.) in a great 2OT game in the semifinals. Then went on to crush a team that included former UB star Darcell Williams (6-7 with skills) in the finals. Kowalski was tough on the glass and G French dominated the action in transition. Derrick Ware is a sparkplug and one of the best on-the-ball defenders you will find anywhere in this conference. Coach Miller again in the stands salivating over his team's prospects. They could be one of the most improved teams in the NATION. But then again, they were rock-bottom last year!!

With Phila Bible and Keystone leaving after this season, the NEAC MBB membership will drop to 6. Add Wells' new program to the mix and they are back to 7. I have heard SUNY Cobleskill is looking for a home and might be a good fit ... as they have been a JUCO power and now going 4-year. Not sure who else would be looking for a conference in NY state. The pickings are slim.

bballfan44

Did you hear the news, the NEAC added two new schools for next year.

a Suny that just became NCAA and another suny school that decieded to leave the SUNYAC's

bballfan44

Well some of you have probably already heard the news but SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY IT will be joining the NEAC in 08-09 school year.  Those two schools I think are two very good schools and will help the NEAC become a better League.  They might not be the only teams joining, I know their are talks of maybe one or two more teams joining the NEAC.  I think that the NEAC did a good job getting two good schools after losing so many.

Pat Coleman

They got one Division III athletic department. Not sure what Cobleskill will add other than numbers.
