Speaking of milestones . . .

Since this is the place to post milestones, I'm posting Post #100 here.  A mere pebble among the boulders and mountains I see around me in here, but nonetheless, my cause to celebrate.  As Homer Simpson would say, "Woo-hoo!"  Or at least a mild "Yippee!"   ;)

And sincere congratulations to Rhodes Scholar, Frank Uible, and diehardfan on your election to the Posting Hall of Fame!  Gives a "rookie" something to aspire to.   :)

Ah, I remember when I hit 100 posts, I believe it was in day two of posting....  :-[ :-X :D ;)

Congrats! And let me strongly encourage you to aspire to be more like a Ralph Turner or a David Collinge than a diehardfan. :)

I'm posting scoring updates in the ASC section but thought I would post my 1000 here to keep tradition alive.

+1  to my ASC cyber-friend, dballa.  Dballa has been a great fan, and posts lots of reliable information about Howard Payne and the ASC! ;)

11,000.  Thanks to Pat Coleman, K-Mack, Gordon, D-Mac and all of the others who have made this possible.  These sites just keep getting better.  The media hyperlinks, the improving coverage from mulitple sources and the expansion in the sports covered have made this even more fun. :)

Baseball Season is just around the corner, too! ;)

Congratulations, Ralph!  Now, get back to work--I need VWC/Guilford updates!  ;D

That sure is a lot of posts.... Ralph, quit making the rest of us look bad.  :D ;)

On a more serious note, congrats! :)

Congrats, Ralph.  I once had aims on catching you, but I doubt that's a possibility unless I take up following d3 football and I'm not sure my marriage could survive that.

So I stumbled across this room probably about a week ago, and I've realized it's the place to be.   :)

I doubt that my meager contribution of 100 posts (to date, of course) carries much weight among such august company, but I did want to use my post to note how much respect I've developed for the incredible knowledge and dedication that you all bring to bear upon Division III hoops.  I especially appreciate how willing many of you are to patiently teach, nudge, and correct those of us who barely have any national understanding of DIII hoops to the point where every night that I get on the site I find myself becoming more and more entranced by the debates over the Top 25, who's the best in the CCIW, the ever-delightful QoWI and the finer details of internet mapping technology.   :)

Oh, and Ralph, you only have 110x  :o as many posts as I do, so I think you'd better start looking in your rearview mirror!   ;D ;D

Thanks again, everyone.

Congratulations scotsbrod!

Your comment about the teaching, ecnouraging, nudging, etc., reminded me of a post that Titan Q made over on the Top 25 Board.

This website with all of its tools and its message boards, hyperlinks, etc., has made an incredible difference in D3sports.  For the serious fan, we are approaching the par of D1.  I watched the first 6 minutes of #23 Rhode Island College/#1Amherst video stream tonight before being called away.  RIC looked good, until Amherst must have made the neccesary adjustments to their defense.  Wow!  Think of that.  I saw the premier game of the night on my computer.

With similar experiences, Titan Q mentioned how much his perceptions of D3 have changed in the past 5 years, too.  We have a great group of fans who really love the game.  The overwhelming majority of fans really enjoy D3 sports for all of the right reasons.

Your saying "thank you" is really appreciated, because our community of fans is growing!  And we are seeing a better brand of athletics, too.  Keep on encouraging your friends to join us! :)

I question the wisdom of calling any board where I am the first post "The Place to Be" ;)

Seriously though, welcome. The quirky fans among us like to post our randomness here... among outher places. You'll notice that there are some regulars that post nationally that never post milestones here... but that's just cause they're not cool enough. :D The truly obsessed among us understand that our many posts are to be celebrated, as our lack of a life is actually really cool and not pathetic. Kidding of course! Most of us lead semi normalish lives... sort of....

Oh what the heck... if you're as sucked in as you say, it's already it's too late for you. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.... with no disrespect to Scott of course... since he did already earn a cookie today. :D :)

They're cool enough... they just don't REALIZE they're cool enough.

... or they may be "too cool,"  in which case they're not cool enough.

Say what? ??? What is it with you Pointers? Between your post and OS's yesterday... I gotta wonder... Is it your personal missions to confuse me? :P :D

YEP!  OS and I got together and decided we were going to try to confuse as many HOFers as possible... and we figured we'd start with you...?

... hmm.... or, well, probably just a coincidence.

Well, the more you attempt to confuse me, the more obvious it will become to everyone that you deserve to be a HOFer much more than I... so I suppose that's a good thing. :)
