As I pointed out on the miaa board, Calvin's number is incorrect......they are being credited with a home game played away (ironically at Hope) with an attendance of 2150.

Calvin's home attendance average for 12 games is 2,586.

PP's stats are off...  They reported 1 game at 47,000 and the rest of their games at either 470 or 4700...

Mr. Ypsi

Good catch, PS.  +k

Since the total was reported as 29K+, the 47K was obviously discounted, but those numbers are extremely suspect (i.e., garbage ;)).

Some schools give attendance figures you can count on, but I wonder if it is even half of them?

Sorry I couldn't come up with some profound pearls of wisdom for the acceptance speech. :P

As an alternative, there is this: at the British Open, Tiger missed the cut and the co-leaders are 59-year-old Tom Watson (with an artificial hip) and a guy who wasn't in the field until Sunday when he made it as the second alternate (had to have his dad fly to his home and FedEx his passport to him!).  With these precedents, perhaps we can't rule out Hiram in the Stagg, while The Mount misses the playoffs.  Will Caltech go to Salem? :o :P

Was that a bit TOO much over the top, even with the Open precedent? ;)

How about St. John or Linfield (Watson)  or NCC (Marino) to the Stagg; NPU (Watson) to Salem?  And either The Mount or UWW (Tiger) and/or Wash U (again, Tiger) missing the playoffs entirely.  Still too rich? ;)

I think that what Pat is saying, Chuck, is that those of us who get around enough to see your stand-up act in more than one club would like to see you try out some new material. ;) :D

Welcome to the big leagues, 'rookie'! :D

I've seen your posts today on Top 25 and CCIW Chat (it's still the Chat to me!).  Exactly why the Posters' Poll doesn't begin until January, when there IS a resume for THIS season!  (That is NOT meant as a shot at the only real poll we've got.  I love that Pat has the guts to go from day 1 [and even before with the preseason poll], despite inevitable 'egg-on-the-face' results like #22 UChicago's 0-12 start last year.  I'm sure it is also smart marketing.)

Any chance you will rejoin our merry band of fans this season? :)

Anything's possible, though my current standing in the National Pick-em should cast extreme skepticism on my "take" on the best teams in the country!
