It's the little things...

125 posts till I can give karma, if I remember correctly :D

And to think, we once engaged in splitting posts into multiple one-word posts in a race for posting supremacy! ;D

I'm pretty sure 200 is still the magic number for karma privileges.
It is and diehard fan I'm going for 2000 posts by kick-off, which will be tough seeing that the boards seem to die down after basketball.

I have no doubt whatsoever that you'll reach it, off-season or not. This school year you've been on a posting pace that is positively Ypsilantian.
Coming from you sir, I take that as a compliment.Ypsilantian.....wow, now I've got to try a Sageristic post soon. Thanks

Actually, for the past couple of months, I'm pretty sure your pace is at least twice 'Ypsilantian'!

And, of course, by word-count, I'm sure Greg would already be several thousand posts ahead of me if his were divided into 'standard' length posts! 8-)

Quantity, quality, frequency ... I've got it all, baby.

A technique April and I never thought of - just quote posts without even typing in anything! ;D

We should put NCF on training wheels until the quoting function starts to come more naturally. ;)

1) This was never about best attendance, although we do, at least once a year, have to type a post that says "Hope" to keep it alive.

2) This is starting to look a bit Ziggrat-esque.  Just saying.

Technically it was about best attendance at some point, it just stopped being about attendance around, oh, 9-10 years ago.

You should read the whole thread, because it's hilarious. However the very beginning of this board "scrolled off" or was cut by Pat or something, because you can tell from the first page that my post, the first one in the thread, is a copycat post of a post by Greg (that was slightly less narcissistic, probably) that no longer exists. I think the idea was that he was hiding his 1000th post in an obscure place to see who found it (back then the posts were actually attached to a specific number, not your profile to a post total), which evolved this into a weird little clique of people who thought that idea was awesome and/or wanted to be in the clique of people who did it.

I <3 this thread though. I came back to the board more for this thread than anything else. I think I like it best is because it's 100% drama free and just a bunch of fun people enjoying each other.

Though it does look like it kind of died down while I was gone, it was still fortunately on life support when I got back. I am trying for some CPR here, and it appears to be working a little. :)

Awhile back(say somewhere around 2006) Mr.Y was asking for people with names of the month. Well, got to thinking back on some of my student's names: Dean Martin, William Faulkner and the family of three with first names of Sherry, Brandy and Bud. I always wanted to go to a party at their house. ;D ;D ;D

You also missed out on some major purges at some point.  I know I went over 7,000 and 8,000 posts at least three times already.

Pat does continue to purge, but usually it's a slow enough pace to keep our numbers moving generally up.

Believe it or not, at one point I thought I might actually catch the leaders.  I was only a couple thousand behind.  Now - that's a pipe dream, and probably better for my life than it is.

Well I deleted my account so that explains me. (Actually, technically I didn't delete my account because that feature is like disabled for HOFers, so Pat did it after I begged him to). I think if you go through the threads long enough there's even an "April" account in these threads that I made, which I also later deleted. Pat has talked about linking my accounts back up, but maybe he should wait to see if I stick around first, rofl.

I am not sure why Greg and a few others are as well, maybe it has to do with the merging of the fb and basketball boards way back.

Hah, this is ironic since I read a comment I made to smedindy about how his 500th was no a milestone. Come to think of it, the purges of the board are probably why this thread has lost some of it's impact. :/
