So what's with the rotation of punctuation?  Are we going for a Prince-type silent protest?

As I viewed it her protest was anything but silent, and its not the first time she has let it be known she objects to off-colour humor and objectifying women. And what was the response? Oh, we're sorry but you have to expect that on a sports site dominated by men. Would those same jokes and remarks have been made if we men couldn't hide, faceless, behind this darn internet--if we had to look these women in the eye?
I don't buy that sports and civility don't mix. Ladies on this site or no different than anywhere else--they're ladies. Is it asking too much that the men go at least half way and act more like gentlemen who like sports than neanderthals (and I defintely include myself in that hairy beast category)?

Mr. Ypsi

jdean,

I agree with you to a point, but as I said earlier, on a sports-board, a certain amount of 'locker-room' humor is to be expectecd.

I'd prefer that it stay PG, but realistically it is going to sometimes go PG-13 or even R (again, I trust Pat to keep it from X).

Although I have not yet met April (confound it, she just drives by my town without stopping, and doesn't make it to the tourney where I expected to meet her! ;D), I agree with Greg.  While my boundary on acceptable is probably beyond hers, I respect her views (and hope she respects mine).

Gregory Sager

Unfortunately, the issue behind April and her punctuation protest (and subsequent disappearance altogether) involves unacceptable personal contact by other posters, not any sort of generic towel-snapping that might offend her sensibilities.

Actually, it involves both. I offered to help her with the individual issue, which she declined. (I banned the person anyway, which I should've done months ago.)

I can tell Ypsi's got more time on his hands these days.  Those post numbers are climbing at an incredible rate.

Maybe you should work on analyzing that rate.  It will keep you sharp.

Nah, enjoying "retirement" too much!

But, hey, I practically NEVER post (took me almost TEN hours to respond to your dig)! ;)

[And I was probably on this site LESS than 4 of those 10 hours! ;D]

I guess tradition suggests that I post here.  #10,000!

Thanks to Pat Coleman for making the last 6 1/2 years of D3 athletics so enjoyable for me.

This site has done more for D3sports than any other initiative out there, and sometimes more than the NCAA does for itself! :)

Thanks to all of my new-found friends in the D3 community! :)

Congrats Ralph (and Yspi, who went over 5000 recently) and let's hear it for McMurry... go McMurry Athletic Teams!

(So can we go with that instead of Indians?  Can we call them the McMurry MATs?)

You could always call them the school formerly known as the Indians...  Though the MATs is quite nice!
