    Muskies- one play drive for a TD. then picked off a pass on the last play of the game to get the road win in a real barn-burner.

Initial thoughts after three weeks.

AU is still the favorite by a wide enough margin. Benedictine definitely gets the second spot as of right now.

CUW is still an unknown at this point.

St. Norbert has played a tough schedule to this point but that loss to struggling UWSP is a bit eyebrow raising.

Lakeland can score in bunches but it looks like their defense again will be their handicap.

WLC looks good so far but next week against Lakeland could dictate how better they look. A win there could point to an outside shot for a winning season.

Rockford is stil a wild card but don't think they will be a threat to move up into the middle of the standings just yet.

CUC should avoid the basement and I can't see Eureka winning a game this year after how much they struggled so far.

9/28 Finals and reaction:

WLC 33, Lakeland 31 (Warriors come up with a stop of a Lakeland potential game=tying 2=pt conversion attempt in the last minute of play. WLC gets a win on the road.
Warriors showing a more-balanced attack on offense of late.

CUW 23, Benedictine 18 (A Summers III TD with less than 3 minutes left was the difference here in this back and forth battle).

Aurora 72, CUC 6 (Spartans-541 total yds on offense on the day).

St. Norbert 40, Rockford 3 (Regents--5 turnovers St. Norbert 331 yd to 133 yd total offense edge on Rockford for the game) Didn't expect this to be a blowout.

After Aurora, it's gonna be a real dogfight. On paper, the CUW/St. Norbert game looks to be THE key match-up next week.

10/5/24:

St. Norbert 28, CUW 10 (Falcons held to 8 net yards rushing-late 2nd Quarter 14-pt scoring run for the Green Knights was the difference here).

Aurora 45, WLC 14 (Spartans committed 3 turnovers, but WLC didn't get any points off them-at least the Warriors didn't get routed like the previous 2 NACC squads Aurora played)

Lakeland 42, Benedictine 21 (Back and forth early until Muskies put up a 21-spot in the 2nd Quarter to get breathing room) Kind of expected this after their near miss last week.

CUC 31, Eureka 27 (With under a minute left, Eureka QB was sacked on a 4th down play, preserving the win for the Cougars here).
