I would like to chime in with BoBo and welcome the Wabash faithful to the Perk this weekend.  It is a great place to tailgate and watch some great football.  You will have plenty of room on the visitors side and in the parking lots.  No problem with, " keeping warm."   ;)  The stadium lot does charge $3.00 a parking spot to park there.  I would just add that there are two good mexican restaurants in town called Karina's, (across from the Boar Pub,) and Cozumel. (not sure of location and spelling but hear they have great margarita's,) as well as a steak and fish place just outside of town called the Lone Star.  Many of the boosters will hang there after the game.   Looking forward to the week on the boards.  As Usee said, there are a few youngsters who can spout off on the WIAC board but many are knowledgable and respectful.  I find with all kids, it is just best to ignore negative behavior.   ;D

LG -

Yeah, I'll be home by kickoff and be able to listen in. It's just that client review ends at 11:30 and by the time I'd get to Whitewater the game would be over. Thanks for the offer, though!

BTW guys, it is UW-W as opposed to UW-WW. It's a common mistake, but it kills me every time I see it. Just for future refrence.

BashBro, Wally...

Janesville sounds like HQ's.  I have a couple of extra rooms, call me if you need them.

Trying to decide on a meeting spot Friday night (a la BW-3s in Alliance in 2002) in Janesville.

Is it only Monday?  :)

wally_wabash

I'll be in touch this evening, 16.

I made it until about 1:30 before I mentally checked out.  This is going to be a long week.

Something to beware of if you choose to stay in Janesville...

They stop selling liquor at 9pm (maybe 10, but I think it was 9).  Everywhere.  Town ordinance.  Make sure you BYOB.  I got bit by that bug on a basketball trip a couple years back.

wally_wabash

+k for that very important heads up...thanks, Wes.

I'm hoping that you're talking about selling adult beverages in liquor stores and such...not at your favorite bar or restaurant type places, yes?

I can't say for sure.

If I recall, we stayed in a Baymont right off I-90 on the northern side of town.  The only thing nearby that served any such adult beverages was a Damon's, and it closed really darn early on the Friday we were there.

Hey - it's a college town.  The serving establishments DO NOT shut down at 9.  Bars I believe are open until 1 AM (but I graduated from U Dub Dub quite a while ago).  That's the liquor stores.  Or "Package stores" if that's the Indiana term.

I've heard upper 20's to low 30's for a high on Sat.  And there always seems to be wind at the Perk, so dress accordingly!

There are free parking lots a little further away from the stadium - $3 gets you "up close and personal".
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

State law that liquor stores stop selling at 9...go to Wal-Mart, right off the Hwy 26 exit off of I-90 in Janesville. Then bar time in WI is 2, though I don't know of any in Janesville. Maybe check out downtown....there's the shopping district, which runs along the North part of 90, just keep heading down 26.

A little FYI, I don't think there is a BW3's in Janesville (let me know if there is) but there is a Hooter's.

As Far as other NCAC schools supporting bash, I saw several Dennison hats in the stands, as well as 3 or 4 wooster jackets and hats while I was out wondering at halftime.  however the strength with which 'bash traveled made this feel like a home game or at LEAST a neutral site game for bash.  I wont be around next week as I am an Ohio man, and will travel within a couple hours to see a NCAC playoff game, but not 9 or 10. Best of luck tot he bash guys, sounds like you may be able to dominate the stadium once again if they only brought 3000 last week. Good luck stopping Mr. Beaver, if it can be done, Welcome to the Final 4!

That's great to hear and I know that the conference-wide support is definitely appreciated.

The LGs have a tall order this weekend...this will be the first time in a looong time that Wabash has been a big underdog in a game.  It'll be interesting to see how they attack this game.

The only other gear I saw on Saturday's game was a couple of guys from John Carroll...and that's in Cleveland as well.
It's going to be cold in Wisconsin...just hope the wind isn't bad.
It'll be an interesting week watching film. UWW's D has scored defensive touchdowns in both playoff games. If we can sustain long drives like we did on Saturday...this could be a great game.
It's a David and Goliath game...but that's why we're called Little Giants. We may be small in numbers (900 enrollment vs. 10,000) and in size of players...but...Wabash Always Fights.
Go Wabash, Beat UWW

Winning games like this is how we got the nickname "Little Giants" in the first place.

GO WABASH!!!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Little Giants in the Semifinals.  It will be a huge boost to the NCAC.  Best of luck this week!  Keep representing well.
