Should be a great game.

There's a game on Saturday, Smed?

WIAC Board shows more concern with historical, hero worship or whether UMHB or Wesley are the semi-final opposition.  The only sure bet is that one "W" will prevail and another "W" will lose.

Scheckelkn14,

I'll give you the same response that you guys provided me on the WIAC site.

We have a great offense, a great defense, great special teams & our team has a win at all cost attitude - refuse to lose!

BashDad - you redeemed yourself from last week - strong pull brother!

I hope they continue to look past us and take us lightly........(I know the posters on here do not most likely represent the attitude of the coaching staff or the players.)

I wonder if that very good Capital team looked past us in 05'?  I don't think there is a coach or player from that team that doesn't think they were fortunate to escape with a victory.

Keep looking past us...please
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I know for certain Mt. Union did NOT look past us in 2002. Champions don't look past any opponent, and I doubt the Warhawks will, either. Each of the final 8 is an outstanding football team.

For UWW to have won three straight WIAC titles, going without a loss in conference, I feel it is highly unlikely that the team and coaches take for granted the teams they play.

skunks_sidekick

IMO....they did take Mount somewhat for granted in the 2005 Stagg.  They had just came off consecutive wins against the defending D-III champion Linfield on their turf, and a complete beat-down of Wesley.  Mount on the other had  LOST in the regular season for the first time in 11 years, and "squeaked by" a lowly thought of Rowan squad.

For Wabash to win, they must play consistent, high-level football for all four quarters.  It seems like WW will put on a burst of scoring if you let up for one minute.  A team with play makers will do that.

Good luck, it would be interesting to see someone else as an opponent in the Stagg if Mount happens to make it.

Sakman 1111

Skunks that is simply an idiotic statement.....taking Mount Union somewhat for granted. I assure you know one I knew on that 2005 team in any way took Mount Union for granted. Did they think they could win? Sure they did but to intimate they were overconfident is ridiculous....

I just received a letter that said there will be a main tailgate in the parking lot that is south of the stadium, closest to the field. I don't know what time it will start but from what the letter says...you won't be able to miss it. The game starts at 12 central time...so...I'm think at least by 10....maybe 9:30. I'm not sure what time the parking lots open at UWW. Can any of the Whitewater posters help with that?

I'm not sure on the exact time when the tailgating opens up, but i've been there around 8:30 and people are already there setup. I'll probably get there around 8:30 saturday. The place usually doesn't start to fill up till around 10:00. It's $3 per vehicle to get into the lot south of the stadium

Stay warm and enjoy the game, i know i will. Looking forward to it!!

An enormous congratulations are in order for Wabash Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Neal Neathery who has been named the AFCA Division III Assistant Coach of the Year.  This a great achievement for Coach Neathery and for Wabash College.  Congratulations Coach!

Adi turned down his invite for the Aztec Bowl but shares some good rationale and comments.

Congrats to Wabash assistant Coach Neathery!

I can assure you that no one in the program is looking past the Lil' Giants.  It would have happened before now if they were going to fall victim to a trap game. But if it helps you to think that way................................ ;)

I only see one really big guy on their O-Line.   The rest are the size that we see week in and week out. (I expect that they will be the best O-Line we have seen all year)    From what the Warhawk faithful were saying though, I was expecting 6-6 310 across the board.

Their Defense is big .... two of their Linebackers are very big...

Should be a good one.

Bashbro,
Yeah...that's what I noticed...their linebacking unit is probably the biggest unit we've seen all year. Their DB's also have good stats which mean they must be fast and receivers don't get a lot of separation. That should be quite a matchup with our talented receiving corp.
They have a very effective two pronged attack...Run Beaver all day...and then when the defense stops them...or gets lulled asleep...the QB can really pass.
A key matchup will be how we stop their pass rush and how our backs block.
This will be a lot of fun up in Wisconsin...seeing one of the premier teams in the nation. You only get better by playing the best. Go Wabash, Beat UWW

Just finished looking at pics of "the Perk" on the Warhawk football website.  Looks like a great facility and.... it  has seating on the Visitors side of the field!  Best of all, they were kind enough to put a "W" in the middle of the field - too bad it is purple.

WH, from your point of view on the visitors side, it will look like a big, purple M. However, there's also a big, purple W behind the north endzone!

An "M"?  I thought it would look like an upside-down "W".   I bet you did very well on the LSAT with the spatial relations questions.

Now, why would they put an upside down "M" in their field?  I can  think of a few reasons -
1) the groundskeeper is dyslexic
2) instead of a 50 yard line, they have a Middle yard line
3) the "M" stands for UW- Madison (where they couldn't get in)
4) It's not an "M", it is a sigma, rotated 90 degrees - those Sigs are crazy bunch but directionally challenged

See you all Saturday at UM-Mhitemater.  Go Little Giants, Beat the Marhamks!

Damn, my keyboard is doing the same thing!  All my dubya's look like m's.

I found the problem - my monitor was upside down.

May the games begin.
