I'm a contrarian and I took the points with Earlham. Just to prove I'm not a kool-aid sipper! (Actually, that's not the reason).

Smed or who can answer

I have a question.  Can anynoe answer it.  I was watching the 2003 Bell game.  They said that Hammer set the sack record in that game.  Can anyone tell me when it happened?  I can't find it.  Was it when Foster picked it up and scored?  Was just wondering.

Oldguy

I agree we can be a little touchy.  Wabash is more than a College.  It is a family.  We can fight amongst ourselves, and that is OK.  We will kiss and make up, but anyone attack any of the family.  You will have the wrath of the whole family upon you.

765-

That's the play Blair got the record on.  He didn't actually break the record, he tied BJ's mark of 27.5 sacks with that one.

Pat,

How is karma even decided?  Have my arguments with Wally been the main reason for me getting such a crappy rating?  Not that I really care.  Just wondering.

wally_wabash

I think a screen name like "Vince McMahon" automatically comes with some seriously bad karma. :)

Vince -

When you get to a certain number of posts, you are allowed to give good and bad karma to other posters.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

True, Wally.  I guess I didn't want to waste time trying to come up with some witty Gator screen name.  Don't watch that much wrestling anymore but I always liked Vince's television persona, namely that of "the boss".

I think arguing with Wally actually improves your karma!  If Wally didn't say something to generate heated discussion, he wouldn't be doing his job as lead instigator.  Agree or disagree, he generates a lot of posts, which is at the very least entertaining.

As for picking Earlham, I'm doing it only because it guarantees Wabash will cover.

Bashbacker765

Wally,

Thanks.  I will have to watch that play again.  I didn't think Blair was within 3 feet of the play.  I thought T.T. Jackson made the solo sack.

smedindy

Uh, yeah, that's a little secret there. But of course, not every school can have the best defensive stat man in college football working for them (who can also moonlight as PA guy and participation dude and am I patting myself on the back hard enough I don't think so....)

Smed,

Not sure what you are trying to say????  Were you the one that made the phantom sack call, or am I confused on the play?  I saw another sack that Foster made later in the game that White came in after he was down, then Hammer came in after White.  Just asking.  If either of these play were the one that tied the record. Then that just not fair to the player that held the record previous.  Which we all know was his brother.  I'm sure BJ has no problems sharing with little brother, but if that is the case is it fair.  If we are to respect records.  I just think they need to be acurate.  Sorry to bring this now, but I was just going through some old games.

The horror, the horror.

Early reports from Hollett Little Giant Stadium are that Wabash is wearing the all-red unis.  :o

Oh, and Rummell is not in pads and is wearing a boot.

I just learned a few days ago that Amos Alonzo Stagg is a member of the National Basketball Hall of Fame.  He was inducted in 1959.  I can post the blurb in this year's induction program if anyone is interested.  Who knew?
