Echoing the sentiments of other, it does not appear that we could go wrong with either candidate.  Both are young men (too young in the eyes of this 40 year old, but that's my problem not theirs) with oustanding credentials.

I am inclined to lean toward Zebrowski based on his (and our) experience at Whitewater.  That said, what I know about Coe College could be balanced on the head of a pin.

They both have Mount bloodlines!  It's a can't MISS!   ;D

Quote from: wally_wabash on January 26, 2008, 11:45:26 AMThese are outstanding candidates, IMO.  If these are the two gentlemen left standing after this thorough process, I don't think there is a wrong choice to be made here.  Both of these men have excellent pedigrees and have an excellent record of success in Division III.  I can't wait to hear who the College chooses.

If these are the two, I like em both.

Coach Raeburn has done a great job at Coe - Tough D and Balanced O.  Quality Bloodlines.

Coach Zebrowski - I got to see his offense kick our tails in December.

Both have played in or coached D3 Champions.

I agree with these statements. Neither of these fellas is gonna steer Wabash football wrong.

It can't have been coincidence. I have to think it was a concerted effort to get someone with championship experience.

Also, it speaks to the caliber of the job. Frankly, when CC came to Wabash, it probably wasn't a first tier job. Now, it is.

I would agree that both candidates seem to have impressive backgrounds.  I like the fact Raeburn has been at Coe for 8 years - nice stability and still only 36 years old.  Zebrowski's background is much different with more jobs.  Not sure if that is a knock on him rather then just an observation.

Smeds - I agree 100% on your comment about the attractiveness of the job.

Hey, give me a break.  I was doing basketball at Centre last night.

Didn't even think to check the paper's website before I posted when I got home.

Again, just tell us when it's done.

Yeah, Wabash guys.  How dare you be excited and brimming with anticipation over the hiring of a new football coach?  Clearly, since it's basketball season, you should be devoting all your time to d3hoops page hits, and not discussing your school's search for a football coach . . .

I'm OK with excitement and brimmed anticipation, just not continued "updates" that are really people just talking to hear themselves speak.

So a newspaper article naming the final 2 is not post-worthy??

I don't think that's what Pat is getting at, 16.

Yet you bashing their excitement and posting to keep themselves entertained during this long search is OK?  Must be a moderator privilege.

More news if you like.  Won't find this one in a John Groth article.  I kid.  I love the guy.  DePauw grad.

Coach Z from Whitewater is on campus as I speak.  Coach Raeburn from Coe will visit on Thursday.  Unsurprisingly, both coaches are expected to sit down with the team after their interviews.

One other important note I should mention, DB Coach Tom Allen has accepted a defensive coordinator job elsewhere, so what was already a short recruiting staff has shortened by one more until the hire is made.  Hire expected shortly after the two visit campus this week.
