More news if you like.  Won't find this one in a John Groth article.  I kid.  I love the guy.  DePauw grad.

You may be the only one...I wrote for him for a while. I don't mind getting edited - that's part of the game. Some of my articles were eviscerated, though.

Coach Z from Whitewater is on campus as I speak.  Coach Raeburn from Coe will visit on Thursday.  Unsurprisingly, both coaches are expected to sit down with the team after their interviews.

One other important note I should mention, DB Coach Tom Allen has accepted a defensive coordinator job elsewhere, so what was already a short recruiting staff has shortened by one more until the hire is made.  Hire expected shortly after the two visit campus this week.

Info regarding the candidates being on campus and when was in the JR piece...still old news.  You're way behind the cycle, Wes.   :)

Again, just tell us when it's done.

16, if you look at this post and what it's in response to it may clue you in.

Guess I should have been more clear that I was directly referring to the Allen thing.  I suppose that was worded like I didn't even read the article.

Too bad Pat doesn't edit my posts like he edits my column.

Well, I can't say that I'm terribly surprised by Coach Allen moving on.  It's been reported that he had put in for the open position at Wabash and when he didn't get that he'd have to decide whether or not he wanted to work for the guy that beat him out for the position.  And there's no guarantee that he'd have been bumped up to DC under the new coach...I'm sorry to see him go because I think he's a very good coach, but taking a DC job elsewhere probably isn't a bad move for him personally.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....anyone hear how Zebrowski did today?

If one of you Wabash faithful has a momemt while you are anticipating the announcement, would someone have an extra playoff program that you would be willing to part with, for an appropriate price of course (or even a copy of the page with CWRU's roster)?

Hey, CWRU, contact Brent Harris, the SID at Wabash. He can hook you up. harrisb@wabash.edu

QuoteZebrowski was head football coach at Lakeland College, where he led the program to a 28-13 mark in four seasons, including 24-4 in Illini-Badger Football Conference play. He led Lakeland to its first trip to the NCAA Division-III playoffs in 2005.
Quotewould agree that both candidates seem to have impressive backgrounds.  I like the fact Raeburn has been at Coe for 8 years - nice stability and still only 36 years old.  Zebrowski's background is much different with more jobs.  Not sure if that is a knock on him rather then just an observation.

I think both canidates have great football backgrounds.  It is nice to see Wabash is attracting these type of canidates.  I have 1 question about Zebrowski.  Why did he leave a head coaching position with Lakeland to take a OC job with Whitewater?

Hate to see Allen leaving, but that happens when there is change.

I know that a lot of people have been upset with all the posting of this coaching matter.  I know that Wabash posters are different than most of the posters.  Wabash alumni and fans are passionate about their school.  I think that is what makes Wabash different and great.  As Always.

Not certain why there is any reason to be upset, we are talking about the coach of an NCAC football team on the NCAC football board.

OC at a high profile, championship caliber team is probably a better gig than HC at an IBFC school.  I don't think either is a "destination" job for Zebrowski and if he's resumé building, why not do it at a school like UWW?

WallyFS4,

Not 100% on the move from Lakeland to UW-W but would assume strength of conference was one factor and the location was tough - Sheboygan, WI surrounded by cornfields and less then impressive facilities.  My guess is that he sensed what Whitewater had returning and had a shot for a title run.  All pure speculation.
