Congratulations to Coach Raeburn for the appointment!  As I've posted before, I don't think there was a wrong choice to be made here.  For the two finalists to have gotten that far in this process says a lot about the abilities of both men.  I'm excited to have Coach Raeburn under the headset and am confident that he will not only continue the success Wabash has enjoyed this decade, but build upon it.  Welcome again to Coach Raeburn!

Keep the faith, Brent.   ;)

Congrats to Coach Raeburn!  Looking forward to filling the rest of the staff and hope he can bring in some key assistants.  Apparently he will handle the O-line and serve as the Offensive Coordinator.  On the D side of the ball it sounds like he is a Tampa 2 guy which should be a big change from 4-4 Cover 3.  That should be a nice change up.  I'm excited to see what he can do.  Clinic topics/session on Tampa 2 - http://www.afmuniversity.com/speaker_detail.php?speaker_id=38

Shifting gears, I stumbled across this clip on Youtube on the DPU kicker - its actually pretty funny - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiIJpTynQSs

Again, Coach Raeburn & Family...welcome to Wabash College football.

I hope that was a cheap shot at Depauw and not Walker... Because Walker is one helluvah guy. You can't tell me he wasn't up for the challenge either. Man, that comment sucked. emphasis added

Uh, you must have me mistaken for somebody else, hotshot.

BTW, while I'm here, I must extend congrats to my friends to the north on their new coach.  I really think you fellers made a great hire.

I remember a couple of years ago when I power rated teams, and had Coe in the top 20 or so, someone old LB with a QBs number poo poohed it. Heh.... ;)

Bash D line should be solid with Lange, Kennon, and Gangloff inside.

Nice find 16.

Quoting Wally:  DK was a  Manimal last year.  He lived in the backfield and his TFL numbers should be rediculous next year.

How do you keep saying this?

It's rock, paper, scissors.

Not rock, paper, dialectic or rock, dialectic, scissors.

Or even dialectic, paper, scissors.

Sorry, just diminishes the prominence of your most recent success when that's thrown out there.  Not trying to be a prick here, but every time the statements made my inner voices begin arguing semantics over majority versus pluralism and keep arriving at...

the Tigers were champs in '06.

But, I'll take this past season over an '06 post season bid.

Am excited to see what at least one of the IIAC posters has called Raeburn's willingness to throw it all over the field and run the ball as well.  Mentioned his judgment of talent and utilisation as well.  Should be an interesting year as the cupboard's pretty full in Crawfordsville.

Like the fact a good cover two will be returning to the league as well.  Should make things a lot more fun for the ends.  Should expect speedy tackle play in years to come per BB16's afm link.

Don't know much of Coe's offensive line play, but anticipate Raeburn with time will implement a little more speed and less girth if his pass game is as screen as have heard.  Just speculation, pure speculation...  But am of the opinion that getting off the ball more than size helps the run game as well..  Don't know that Raeburn's pass game is as vertical as Creighton's, but given the talent of the wide receivers and the largesse of your current Oline, Raeburn himself might be walking into an opportunity to evolve his own playbook.

What fruit will/does his having coached Fred Jackson bear in the recruiting game?  Helluva selling point, and noticed Tutsie, the head man at Warren Central is listed on that AFM site BB16 provided.

This hiring news has me already excited for league play next season, and it's just February.

It keeps being said because it's true.  The last quoted sentence above is also true.

Read it and weep. Mac.  Note the use of the word "champion" to describe both  Witt and Wabash in the lead sentence of the release.  Piss and moan all you want, but Wabash was a co-champion in 2006 (there's even a trophy in the Allen Center if you get a chance to check it out).  You shouldn't confuse playoff bids with conference championships...the two aren't necessarily the same thing.
