that transfer was Casey Elkins.... I actually saw Powell down at IU for the purdue game. He was tiny, I actually didn't recognize him, he had to yell at me! god knows i am not tiny!

BB16,

That was the crew.  Left 1 out.  Connor Kuba.  He was having a beast of a year before his injury.  As always.

Montes #28, Mercer was indeed #94

Elkins had some of the best physical skills for a frosh I've seen at Wabash (Adi was pretty good too  ;))

Elkins would have been the real deal at corner.  (6'2 - 6'3 - blazing speed, great hands) IMHO, I don't think his heart was in it.

The kid I would have loved to have seen develop over 4 years was T.T. Jackson.

Sounds like an accurate description of a guy who spent some time on campus when I was there, Shawn Siddall.  Big kid, sneaky fast.

Martindale was full of d'backs when I was there, and apparently they started calling Siddall "Jesus" because of his ability to appear out of nowhere and make interceptions.

BashBacker#16

Joe Wally,

I actually laughed out loud on that one about Siddall.  We called him "Jesus" because his hair went down to the mid part of his back.  He wasn't sneaky fast, just a good nose to the ball.  Out of Lake Central H.S. and led the state his senior year with 11 picks.

HE ALSO QUIT THE TEAM THE WEEK OF THE MONON BELL GAME (his Junior year I think) - SO I THINK THAT IS WORTH MENTIONING more so then his talent.

joepieters

I knew that he left the team mid season, but I did not recall that it was the week of the Bell game.  He left school entirely at that point though, didn't he?

Did anyone else think the Clemens hearing was the biggest waste of taxpayer money since the Iraq war? I would rather have watched a road worker smoke a cigarette while holding up traffic than that crap... I thought it was interesting how the weasel chairman was backing McNamee.... What a joke! Clemens is done, I hope I run into him on a golf course somewhere.

I wish that Congress, or any legislative body for that matter, would put this much effort into investigating steroid use in law enforcement. Most law enforcement agencies don't test for it. And, McNamee is a former cop. Think ballplayers were the only ones that he was selling too?

And, WTF is the IRS doing there? What could Clemens using HGH have to do with the IRS?

Perhaps RC mistakenly claimed "his chemical injectables, devices, and appointments" as an itemized, medical deduction or work-related expense  ???

yea.....it is pretty much a total joke.   Next they'll be bringing Kelvin Sampson on the hill for making inappropriate phone calls to recruits..... or Bill Belichek for illegal taping. (spinning this back to football  ;))

I think our government has a few more important things to handle......

Back to your regularly scheduled off-season.

It is funny you said this, I heard earlier this week that Congress was going to look into the Patriot's illegal taping.  Did anyone else hear this?  Congress is getting completely out of control.  Just a bunch of athlete want to be's.  As always.

Specter has a reason to do what he's doing: he's taken money from Comcast and Comcast's biggest lobbyist, and they don't like the NFL Network.
