I agree, we need another scoreboard and more modern scoreboards, as well as help witht he press box.  I'd be willing to kick in a few chips on that!!
Been rooting for Dear Old Wabash since 1976...

OK ... good news is:  look for RED major league baseball seats the same as you see at Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals ballparks.  (At least that is what I think it will be.  Could be green if go traditional ... but I think RED).  Additional provisional good news ... I believe the seats will also go into the soccer stadium.  I am not a soccer person, but maybe some of you are.  Also good news:  new press box for both and restrooms for both.

Potential not as good news:  not for sure but possibly to probably ... missing at Hollett are:  1) new super scoreboard ... heard a new one was included ... but not of the super variety described on this board and 2) minor to no substantive renovations to football press box ... which is sad if true.

My nickle was that we have one run at this during our lifetimes ... so lets do it.  This renovation/creation is very extensive and positive ...and beyond the wildest early budget dreams.  I know Wabash will get there ... Wabash does not announce without carrying it accross the goal line ... and read the announcement as to what was included.  I do not look for cuts.  However, if there are to be "adds" we need to really really help out financially, perhaps tagged with some requests for additional improvements which really really complete the package.

Believe me ... witih no changes, you will salivate to be 18 again and be a Wabash recruit for any of the sports included.  (I believe ... hhave been told, for instance, the football practice facility will also contain artifical as well as real turf so we are ready for anything.)

Wabash Always Fights, DePauw Swallows, and Chicago is about to be hurt.

Look for Wooster to challenge for a top spot in the NCAC this year. After a year of rebuilding, the team looks quite different than last years team. Holter looks to be more comfortable (as well as bigger and faster) running the offense and he has quite a few weapons to spread the ball around to. Two new names you will be hearing a lot this year will be Freshman TE Cameron Daniels and Junior WR Mike Francisgangeli. Mike has been a player throughout his time at Wooster but this will be a breakout year for him. The return or Jordan Ferns will also give Wooster a home run threat with his speed. Now with that being said....... for as good as the offense has looked, the Defense looks even better! They are very energetic this year and fly to the ball. Throughout the BW scrimmage and the Waynesburg game there have been many outstanding plays on the defensive side of the ball. The additions to the coaching staff of former Wooster alum Chris Craig and Michigan Wolverine Willis Barringer have added a special something to this D. They are very motivated and bring the fire out in these kids. In the BW scrimmage in the 1st team "Game situation" action, Wooster went up 27-7 on the Yellow Jackets. I don't know how tough BW will be this year, but Wooster stood strong against their boys. And as for Waynesburg, the stats can answer that. This week against OWU should be a good indicator of things to come. Now I'm not one to flaunt and talk smack, but it seems the lack of Wooster support on this site is down and I wanted to bring it back. Look out NCAC, WOOSTER IS BACK ON TRACK!  ;D

Black n gold -  You can start your climb back to the top by beating Witt at home on 11/15  ;)

The road trip to C-Ville will be a tough one for ya.  Good luck to the Scots this year.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

It's kinda nice they made some schedule changes this year. The game against Witt could be very interesting on that cold November day. I believe the Case Western game will give a nice test to see if we'll be able to compete for the top spot.

-Good luck to all teams this week.........it's gonna be a beautiful day!

It's about time we got a piper in here!

Nobody has stood out in the first two weeks quite the way Wooster has, IMO.  That win at Waynesburg was pretty impressive.  The Scots have a tough stretch with games against CWRU, Wash U., and Wabash.  Two of those games aren't conference games, but those are probably three of the four toughest games on the schedule and they all come in consecutive weeks.  We'll find out where Wooster stands during that stretch.

Just got some more info on the facilities upgrade from a reliable source at the College that those drawings are very generic and will not reflect a lot of the details that will add a great deal to the overall "look & feel."  As just one example; a new, more modern scoreboard will sit on the East end (no more sun glares) and they plan on it having its share of bells and whistles - should be very nice.  Sounds like it will be 1st class for sure.  Bring it on...

The baseball stadium looks incredible.  No more fastballs slamming off the wood backstop in Mud Hollow!   ;D

Or foul balls in the ravine.

So are you saying Brewer was a little slow out of the crouch?   :)

By the time the PA announcer says his name, the first quarter will be over.

That win at Waynesburg was pretty impressive.

Less impressive after Waynesburg barely escaped from Hanover, but a win is a win, and I do agree that Wooster will be a contender this year.

Heller wasn't available for the Hanover game, so it's kind of an apples and oranges comparison.  Wooster appears to be legit and if Wabash sleepwalks through the game against the Scots like they did last year, I seriously doubt that the LGs will sneak away from that one with a win again.

Black n Gold: ScotLass has been flying the College of Wooster flag for at least 2 seasons now on D3; and pretty much been the lone COW voice. Her insight & dedication to her Fighting Scots has been exemplary. I am sure she welcomes your (& other) Wooster support. Good luck at the Papp....GO BISHOPS

aueagle: I truly appreciate that. Makes me almost feel bad about the Scots having to beat OWU  :P

I have no doubt that Woo has the potential to be very competitive this year and if they play consistently to that potential they will make for tough competitors.  Holter has matured in his role and based on the Waynesburg game the offense appears more varied with several options open. The lines have solidified as well. I also agree that the addition of Chris Craig and Willis Barringer to the coaching staff has infused significant enthusiasm. Progressive improvement from the Black/Gold scrimmage, to the B-W scrimmage, to Waynesburg is certainly cause for excitement as progressive improvement indicates that the Scots have not reached their peak potential yet. Having a week off to perfect some rough edges should lead to an outstanding effort at Papp this weekend.

That being said, the offensive and defensive lines will have to consistently step up through all 4 quarters and not allow themselves to go into sleep mode for a quarter like each of them did against Waynesburg. Against some tougher teams, that will cost them. Also, as I mentioned after the Waynesburg game, Heller was not the factor he was expected to be in comparison to the contest last year because he didn’t play as much ( and it would appear he has disappeared more permananently now). This year Heller averaged 4.7 yds on 22 carries. Last year he carried the ball 46 times. While I believe Woo would have been victorious and give them great credit, the fact remains that they faced a Waynesburg team that would have been a bit tougher if their primary warrior had been more available as a participant.

GO SCOTS!!!!

PS. Kudos to my Wabash friends for a welcoming tone towards a new and enthusiastic Woo poster. Some have been a little less gracious in the past and it can be a little intimidating to face both criticism and the unquestionable team spirit of the Bash boys.

Welcome Black n Gold!!!

Heller has left the team.  They are questioning his "high ankle sprain".  See PAC board in South Region for details
