Darkside,

If the Gheny folk we're going to use injuries as an excuse, we would've done it already.  We're 0-3!!!

I haven't been there in two years now..... Don't know if it has changed.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Last week at the Case game, some of the guys and myself were discussing opposing teams facilities.  This included the fact the Wooster owns the worst visiting locker rooms in the conference.  While surfing the ESPN web site, I came across this.  I thought it was GREAT and that it should be shared.

I heard about this yesterday and I think it's completely ridiculous.  This lady is a visiting professor and she's just looking to get some attention.  I think the locker room is actually pretty funny and Frye's concept has apparently worked of late as the Hawks haven't lost a home game in almost 4 years.  How many visiting teams left Kinnick stadium saying "I respect women and homosexuals less than I did when I came here"?   This is PC overload.

I don't know if they renovated the visitor's facilities at DePauw, but when I was there I almost felt bad for the visiting team having to get ready in that brick outhouse just beyond the endzone.

SaintsFan:

I stand properly chastised--I value your reasoned thoughts on these chat boards.  As much as I love it, D-III athletics, its purported members, and the NCAA which guide it, can be very frustrating at times.

Best of luck to the Saints this weekend, too.

I personally love Gheny's visiting locker rooms.  Something about rubbing elbows with the guy dropping a duece along side ya to really prepare one for the game.

NCAC fans:

A defining weekend in our conference--my wishes for good, hard-nosed and safe play for everyone!

Earlham's were pretty bad as well.  I recall having halftime meetings outside on the lawn next to the public bathroom.

I'd say OWU's or Wabash's are the nicest in the conference.  Witt's aren't bad.  They may be old, but at least there is plenty of space.

Denisons were nice but very small.

Darkside,

You sure that was a football locker room and not a barracks?  ;)

Earlham! Oh, Earlham!  I remember one of our captains using the commode with no stall while everyone cued right in front of him to the one urinal.  I also remember guys getting dressed outside.  Yet, when Earlham, or anyone, came to Selby, they had it just as good as the bishops!

Sorry, I have to back track quite a bit here.  In reference to page 81, I remember my first fall as a college football fan.  To sit and watch all day was such a thrill.  I was good for almost every time slot, but since I didn't like Pac-10 all that much, I often called it a day around 10.  8 years later however, I'm not quite so glued.  I'm good for Maybe one and a half time slots now, but I have to be watching several games at once.

One thing about admission standards.  At most NCAC schools, I think Kenyon and Oberlin excluded, you can have poor grades and poor test scores as long as you can do one thing-  PAY THE FULL TUITION.  It is so seldom that they find someone who can do that and is interested in the school that they have to take them.  Also, whoever would pay a great deal for education probably went to a very good secondary school.  I don' t know what this MUC guy does for his payments, but that is a loophole.

TU - That's not true at Wabash. And I don't think it's true at Denison, either, or Wooster. And that's just a guess. But the acceptance rate at Wabash is under 50% now. And acceptance is need-blind - they don't look at that at all.

I gave a referral to a Wabash coach recently...talented WR, good size, good speed, and "good student" according the the teacher that recommended him...we found out he is a 3.0 GPA and the coach was not going to waste their time.  2 years ago before he accepted the head job at Randolph Macon, I spoke to Pedro Arruza - then D coordinator at WashU, I couldn't believe the standards they needed - unbelievable!  We were both at a high school recruiting event, needless to say, he did not have a lot of kids come by his booth.

Darkside D - still working on the 10/15 road trip.  Hey, did you check out Billy King's visor on his helmet???  I figured you would like that!   ;D

On a serious note, thoughts & prayers for the sudden passing of John Ware - head coach at Missouri Southern State - where former assistant Wabash coach Brian Ward serves as D Coordinator.  Coach Ware was only 46 and died of a sudden heart attack in his office on Thursday morning around 10 A.M.  MSSU is a NCAA D2 school.
