Macleod's had computer problems all weekend.  Suspect a conspiracy by the LG hackers, sequestering my mojo.   :o  ::)  :D

Would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you meddlin' kids.

Wabash, IFwe win out, may be as high as we are going to get at #6 in the reg. season.  A lot of football left.

Here are Top 6 and their toughest remaining tests. (IMO)

#1. Mount - at Otterbein.

#2. UW-W - #17 - Eau Claire rematch (2 times in 1 year ???, I think their best chance was early against the '08 Warhawks)

#3.  MH Baylor - at Sul Ross State. (Crushed them last year, but anything can happen on the road.)

#4.  Wheaton -  #7 - N. Central, Illinois Wesleyan and at Carthage.

#5.  Muhlenberg - at Moravian, at Dickinson

#6.  Wabash - Wooster, Depauw

Wabash gets some air play on the ATN podcast this week.  Can't say I disagree with their analysis. I hope we can step it up for the rest of the year now that  we've played a rivalry grudge match and the best team we've played so far.

Looks like the Hudson family went 2-0 against Witt last Saturday.

http://www2.wabash.edu/blog/matthudson2010/2008/10/wabash_always_fights_so_do_the.html

My dad is ringing his cowbell (don't know how or where he got it, or most importantly, why my mother allows it to be put on the travel list) for the first part of the game. Everyone shrugs it off and endures, thinking he'll stop eventually. He doesn't. Belligerent Witt fan has had enough by the 2nd quarter, and armed with a 6-inch height advantage and a slew of "boys-school" insults, he is ready to engage. He approaches Rusty with the intent of unarming him of his cow bell. Rusty resists, and evokes a number of loud unkind words from the assailant. By now, everyone in both sections is more focused on the confrontation than the game. Rusty does not take kindly to the unkind words, and puts his tongue in his cheek (anyone who knows Rusty knows this is his "I'm really mad" look). The assailant is frightened by the apparent boiling point, and realizes that the little fella has taken all he can handle. Antagonist backs off. Unfortunately for the assailant, he backs right into the rest of the family, who have taken up positions to his immediate right, left, and back. This is truly Sopranos-esque. My brother, uncle, and grandfather have flanked the assailant, thinking that they may have to support my father in case of a physical attack. They calmly and quietly escort the man out of the stadium, ignoring the man's idle threats of returning with his posse. The man does not return, Rusty has become a cult hero, and I enjoy my 21st birthday without having to bail any of said relatives out of the slammer. (Again, previous paragraph is simply my interpretation of the confrontation based on the collective information I have been provided with)

In conclusion, we all know that Wabash Always Fights. And if you see a 5'9 guy with his tongue deeply impressed in his cheek, you better run. Because Rusty Always Fights too. I'm out.

Classic.   #3, ever any close calls like that with GLH?

With losing, comes poor attendance.
The loss to Case had only 712 at Selby.
Season high is 2225 with Wittenberg bringing a good Tiger crowd.
2008 average at Selby.....1687
I would consider it a moral victory to win more than just the Hiram & Earlham games.
Very frustrating to see the Bishops spiral down, again.

Have been very busy this fall.  Been working on a NightClub.  Unable to keep up.  Just wanted to Congratulate the Little Giants on a great win on Saturday.  Winning ugly, is still a win.  It won't mean a thing if we don't take care business the next 3 weeks.  Congrats again.  Keep working hard and take care of business the next 3 weeks, and then kick the Dannie's 4 weeks from now.

Anyone in the Elkhart/South Bend area after November 7th.  Let me know, and I'll get you a pass for a cover charge and a beverage.  As always.

WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS!

I agree with you, 78.  The ATN podcast had a pretty good breakdown of the game and the aftermath of the result.

Somebody posted a query about how Wittenberg is going to bounce back this week, which is a fair question.  Really, I don't think it matters that much.  The result in C'ville is far more important to Wittenberg han the result of their own game this week.  I'll be interested to see how the LGs bounce back....the game was as draining a game as I've seen Wabash play in a long time not just for the losers but for Wabash as well.  Wabash doesn't have any time to catch their breath because Wooster is undefeated and has a great opportunity this weekend.  Wabash will need to have turned the page and be ready to go this weekend.  Wooster's defense is no joke and if Wabash doesn't take care of the football any better against a defense that will be as good as Witt's defense was, they may not be quite as fortunate.  I'd rather not see Wabash have to play five turnover roulette again.

Should be a playoff-type atmosphere at the Hollett on Saturday because, frankly, that's what the two teams are playing for.  The long range forecast says that it could be damp in Indiana this weekend.  Here's to getting that run game going early and often on Saturday.

Speaking of bad officiating,  you gotta love a zebra that throws a forearm shiver during the LSU / S. Carolina game.  ;D

Does he get a 1/2 a tackle for that in the books?..... also, would this be considered 12 men on the field?

The astonishing thing is that the SEC has already proclaimed that he was in the right position and did nothing wrong!  Every other official I've ever seen tries to get the hell out of the way.

If that is the SEC position, perhaps they should 'suit up' their refs! ;D

Scot fans,

Obviously, all of us know about Holter and his dual threat abiliities, Shep has been hurt (any chance he'll be back?), and it looks like a couple of good WR's.  Most of the talk on the board has been about  the D...who are the playmakers and who should we watch this Saturday?  Also, how's Woo's O-line been?

*Proclaimer:  Serious questions and no sarcasm.

WallyFS4 - you need to look up Dave Dunlap in South Bend.  Wabash '89, former LB'er, really good guy, born & raised up there so he would be a good one regarding your nightclub/gig.  Interesting Mr. J...hmmm!  How is #4 doing?

BashBro - no chance your Pops would have tangled...he would have been so nervous he would be too far from the field but not missing a play - typically on the track somewhere.  :)

The thing that worries me concerning Wooster heading into this game is, as has been the case for the majority of the season, their offense.  Wooster's has already shown to struggle no matter what the caliber of the opponent is.  They struggled against a good Case defense and they struggled agaisnt a bad Earlham defense.  One sobering thought for Wooster is that, IMO, Wabash will bring by far the best defense Wooster has seen all season long.  That is a scary proposition.

We all know how good Wooster's defense is.  But it really doesn't matter if your offense proves to be inept as Wooster's has shown to be on many an occasion this season against lesser defenses than what they will see vs. Wabash.  Furthermore, if Wooster can't come up with a better gameplan than the one they showcased for the 2nd half of the Case game, forget about it.

Hopefully, Wooster can keep this game competitive.  I just fear that Wooster's offense won't be able to help the defense keep this one close...
