As for the Woo-Bash game.  It should be a great game.  I think it will be a hard hitting slug fest between the two, IMO, favorites for the conference right now.  Schaf should be fine by then.  No need to get bent outta shape over Kenyon this week (please don't make me eat my words Woo!)  Schaf should rest and give the NEW AND...UM, NEW NO. 7 for the Scots a bit of PT this week.  See what he can do at the controls.  The Lordys should be looking for a bit of pay back from beating they took last year.  Anyway, the fact remains it should be a set of unbeatens in Wooster in two weeks.  Sounds like a game of the week to me, huh Pat?

HAHA,  Um, I don't know if any of you guys noticed this, but HIRAM is tied for FIRST in the conference as of now.  Who would have thought, The Puppies.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Man, and I thought the bullpen of the Quakers let 'em down.

Good point Kirasdad, I forgot about that.  But the fact remains. Wabash had better watch out cuz the terrible terriers are hot on their heals!

Having a Denison poster talk smack is like a Kenyon poster guaranteeing a win.  Its humorous, and probably should be ignored.

But to the point that what I stated was not true, or spun in a way to make Witt look better than they were.  Well, thats just garbage.

I believe I called it a "fairly" solid win.  And at 31-6, it was solid, no matter how close the stats were.  I also mentioned they didn't play well in the first half, but got it done.  I also recall mentioning that they can build on the win, which implies it was ok, but not great.  Each is true.  There is no "yellow" reporting in their.  If you are upset that I'm trying to be positive for my team who started out 0-3 for the first time in a couple decades, then too bad.

Now, if you are truly mad about me saying it was "only Denison,"  too bad as well.  Your claim that Witt should worry about the rest of the conference schedule because the game with the Big Red was close statistic-wise implies that you think of Denison's football program as inferior to Witt's as well.

If you read my post, all I was doing was trying to be positive about Witt's first win.  If you want more respect for Denison, win some big games against good teams.  As the old saying goes, respect is earned, not given.

Wabash exposed the Bishop's for what they are. For those that were there or listened, it wasn't even close. Two things that stood out among the many...First Downs...25 - 9....3rd Down Conversion...10/16 - 2/12...OUCH. Bishop's start FIVE FRESHMAN on offense - again, OUCH. GO BISHOPS

Kirasdad-

Came up empty on my search on your old HS coach. The only Wabash-St. Joe game I attended from 1969-72 was in '69 and he wasn't on the roster. I probably wouldn't have found anything you would have found interesting but thanks to you the archives got some fresh air and dusting.

Congratulations to Hiram on their win. I never like to see a team go through a long losing streak with the possible exception of ... ;).

Does anyone know why the front page clearly shows Thiel scoring a touchdown against OWU?

Good point - it should show a picture of Wabash scoring a TD against OWU! :)

Random thoughts and musings...

Looks like a long day for Oberlin coming up Saturday.

Remember those Huntingdon Hawks who just started their program a couple years ago?  They're doing somethng right, as they are 4-0 and going against Trinity (TX) Saturday.  They've already beat three SCAC teams this year.  Also says their school colors are Scarlet & White, so Go Hawks!

Power shift in CCIW?  North Central over Wheaton to go 4-0.

How does Earlham go from 69 points against Manchester to 2 against Hiram?  Even without Rummell, you have to be able to score more than 2 against Hiram, don't you?  That said, saw a post on OAC board referring to Heidelberg as their new Hiram.  Hey, at least the Terriers have a victory.

D3 football polls - Wooster #24, Wabash 8 votes.  At least we're on the radar...

Pure speculation at this point, but...

IF Wabash should win the NCAC, Hanover should win the HCAC (big win over MSJ Saturday) and DePauw should sneak in via the SCAC, that would be 3 teams from Indiana in the playoffs.  IF that should happen, would that be a first?
