BB16-  Ditto.  The conference call yesterday was fantastic.

I have not posted in quite sometime, but I had to chime in and ask....is anyone else as jacked-up for this game as I am?

I could not sleep last night and I am sure tonight will be no different.

it will be 104 years ago....next week.

"The Little Giants' most prominent football game came against Notre Dame at South Bend, Indiana on October 21, 1905. Wabash took a first-half lead, 5–0, through a dominating performance by their backfield and linemen. In the second half, Notre Dame advanced inside the Wabash five-yard line three times, but was repelled on each occasion. The Little Giants won, 5–0 and it proved the only Notre Dame home-field loss in 125 games between 1899 and 1928." Little Giants!

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I'm about there, Caveman.  I don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight either.

That said, I hope he can play, so there won't be any "if-thens," whatever the outcome.

You don't need to worry about that....there won't be any of these "if-thens" that you speak of.  To paraphrase Coach Norman Dale, our team is on the field.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Looks like 50 degrees and mainly cloudy on the day when Witt gets beat again.  Lets Go WABASH !!!

WAF----Last summer, I submitted Josh Miracle's name to the "interesting names" thread. I thought it was worth it. Pat Coleman replied: "He must throw a lot of Hail Mary passes, then". I trust it will not come to that as a game plan. Witt has an intimidating defense, by the stats of their powder-puff schedule (see Strength of Schedule), but they have to figure out how to score on the Bash D first. Wabash ALWAYS fights!!!! I'm afraid I'll have to join Caveman and Wally in their all-nighter!

Caveman - is it normal to have smoke coming out of my ears the night before a big game?  I am equally as jacked and cannot wait to see how this turns out.  I think it will be a "street fight" for sure!

Witt practiced at Hollett at 4 p.m. today...I will post the video later tonight.   ;D

Wally & Co. - what time you rolling in tomorrow?  We'll be there by 9 A.M. to set up camp.

I can't wait to hear the dorky chant of "RED SWARM.........RED SWARM........." Anyone have an over/under on Coach Fincham chucking his clip board?  5?

Big plays, special teams, turnovers.........

Wabash wins if:

Bash O generates over 150 yards on the ground

Bash O doesn't have drive killing penalties (especially 10 yard holding )

Bash O is able to complete passes in the second level.

Bash O 3rd down yard distance.

Bash D doesn't give up big passing plays in the secondary.

Bash D gets pressure on Huffman

Bash D keeps contain on outside rushing plays

Witt wins if:

Witt O controls the outside edge rushing the ball

Witt O protects Huffman giving him vision down field.

Witt D shuts down Wabash passing game completely and forces the run

Witt D can consistently keep Wabash in 3rd and long situations

Witt D gets consistent pressure on Wabash QB

Traditional keys for both:

Turnover margin, special teams/field position, key penalties.

Not that anybody cares exactly what I think, but this has the feel of a race to about 17 to me.  Be sound, hold on to the football, don't commit a heap of personal foul penalties, and don't make any mistakes in the kicking game.

I'm really looking forward to that Wabash O/Witt D match-up.  I kinda poopooed that 3.2 ppg stat for the Witt D, but we'll see what the LG's can do against it.  They've allowed 0 first half points and only 3 in the third quarter.

Somebody makes a kick on the last drive to win it, I believe.  Kinda like last year.

BB16-  Yes...it is quite normal for smoke to be coming out of your ears (much better than it coming out your a$$  ;D).

16- my crew will be set up by 7. I'll be down before 9. It's going to be a great tailgate for sure.

Wes- your opinion is always welcome. And I agree.  This is a low scoring game tomorrow and the defenses will dictate the winner. And my offer to tailgate on 11/14 stands :)

With Depauw on a bye week, I hope you can make it up tomorrow, Wes. Are you planning on it?

Really excited for the game-- it seems to have galvanized the Wabash community more than usual.

I can't take many more of these kinds of calls from bashbro:

Me: Hello?
Him: Hey, bro.
Me: What's up?

Kids screaming in the background, his wife chattering on her cell-- they must be driving.

Him: I'm icing my hammy. Should be good by game time.
Me: Funny.

More kids yelling, more chattering, the car honks.

Him: What?
Me. I didn't say anything.
Him: Alright, bro.
Me: Alright.

Mission accomplished.  Sorry to have troubled you.  Everything is working fine now.

Just FYI regarding treatment of a pneumothorax....

a chest tube is not always needed for a pneumothorax.  Only for larger pneumothorax or severely symptomatic ones.  A small pneumothorax would not require a chest tube.  If he had a chest tube placed he would have stayed in the hospital for a longer period.  You don't just insert chest tube and then remove.  I am assuming he must have had a smaller pneumothorax to be released so soon and already on the sideline for practice this week.  If he had a chest tube then you are correct he would be out this week and probably for a couple to come.  If it is a small pneumothorax that resolves on its own and xray shows complete resolution and he is asymptomatic he could be cleared to play.  Just thought I would pass that along
