QuoteWabash, Witt and Allegheny could all end up at 6-1 in conference and 9-1 overall.  If that were to happen, it appears that Wabash would get the AQ, and Witt and Allegheny would both be under serious consideration for Pool C.

Funny how many people over here seem to be banking on a 9-1 season.  :D

What's awesome is that we CAN hypothesize about a 9-1 season.  DePauw...not so much.

By the way, congrats on finally getting over on your big conference rival.  12 years later and after that program has deteriorated substantially...but hey, you finally got over on those guys.  Nice work.

Notice the emphasized parts? Nobody is "banking" on anything.

And nice backhanded compliment...glad you are in the know about a program that has "deteriorated substantially"?  :D Give me a freaking break.

DePauw doesn't play enough games to get to 9-1.

Are you seriously going to sit there and tell me that Trinity is anywhere near the caliber of team that they were 7-10 years ago when they were making semifinals every year?  Really?  They haven't won a playoff game since the semis in '02.  Do you really think they are the same beast?  Come on.

Got it...Wabash can go 9-1 because they play 10 games (if you count some of those as real games) :D

No, I'm not going to say that, because I don't have a clue. All I know is that "substantially detriorated" program is still pretty good. Maybe not up to NCAC standards, but pretty good by DePauw standards. ;)

What does DePauw fan think about the possibility of joining the NCAC?

Allegheny isn't beating Wittenberg.  That just isn't happening. Teams that beat Kenyon by 3 do not beat Wittenberg.  Wooster has a shot...a long shot, but a shot nonetheless.

And to clarify something I said earlier...

Well it depends...if Wooster loses to Allegheny this weekend, Wooster beating Witt won't help Wabash at all.  Per the numbers at that point, it's probably best for Wabash to keep winning, but in the spirit of disliking all things Witt, I'm still in the Scots corner on 11/14.

This should say that, should Wooster lose to Allegheny, the numbers would say that it's best for Wabash that Wittenberg keep winning.  I'm sure most of you understood what I was getting at, but the original post was a little incomplete and read wrong.

Certainly it is a long shot, although it should be noted that Allegheny did beat Witt last year.  But I get your point . . . if Allegheny beats Wooster and doesn't beat Witt . . . it hurts Wabash if Witt were then to lose to Wooster.

Edit - that should say it hurts Wabash's "Pool C chances" . . . not my intent to denigrate the value of an NCAC co-championship or keeping the streak of NCAC championships alive.
Long shall we sing thy praises, Old Wabash

I don't think we can really look at last year's result and take anything from it.  Last year was the mother of all throwaway seasons for Witt.  Allegheny simply isn't in the same class as Witt right now.

News on Hudson is great!

Allegheny is not going to come within 3 touchdowns of Witt.   Not a knock on Gheny, it is just that Witt's defense is that good and there offense is good enough.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Power ratings according to Massey:

Witt - 25
Wabash - 39
Allegheny - 98

Yeah, that's a gap! Yet it won't matter if Gheny loses to Wooster (ranked 115).
