I don't feel so bad about seeing Wabash play only 3 times since 1999.

Yes, the Spud thing is a theory.  He didn't throw the ball nearly as well in the second half.  Watch the hit again.  He gets crunched.  I'm not making excuses.  Spud didn't have a lot to do with winning or losing the football game.

This is baloney and you know it.  If your boy was hurt, he wouldn't have been in.  Or he wouldn't have thrown 50 freaking passes.  And if he was that "off" he wouldn't have completed 80% of them for 380 yards.  Wabash's D forced two key turnovers on your greatest of all time (or GOAT if you will).  That's what happened.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, dude.

I've watched him throw the ball for 4 years.  What the hell would I possibly know about how he throws...

He was not hurt and he was not off in the second half. Period. The interception was the result of Wabash getting a rush on and making contact as he threw it...credit to the D for making the play.

On the contrary...this is clearly a whatever helps YOU sleep at night situation.  I got my first great night of sleep in two years last night.

I don't think anybody jumped on here a year ago and tried to explain Hudson's 2008 game with "I think he was hurt" b.s.  That's weak sauce.

It doesn't really freaking matter does it?  You kicked our ass up and down Blackstock Stadium for the last 30 minutes.  We couldn't stop you and we couldn't score the damn thing when we had to.  That ought to be the end of it.  The details don't matter.  Regardless of whether he was hurt or not, to take from Jim Mora - we couldn't do diddily poo.

If he's not hurt, that doesn't do anything to keep #84 in the white jersey from taking the football from one end of the field to the other.

I'm a sucker for the diddly poo reference.   :)

Triple digit karma coming your way.

I mention it because that entire presser is pretty much exactly how I feel about yesterday's game.  We could complete a pass, and we got first downs, but other than that, I'd say Coach is about spot on about what occured.  "We couldn't run the ball.  We didn't try to run the ball... We couldn't stop the run.  Everytime they got the ball they went down and got points.  We got our ass totally kicked in the second half.  That's what it boiled down to."

That's the hat we had to wear last November.  I'm sure it won't be the last time we have to wear it either.  Just glad to be rid of it presently.

Matt Hudson -

2008 Bell -  25-43-4 ints  262 yards 0 td's

2009 Bell (1st 29 min.)  5-13-0  66 yards - 0 td's

2009 Bell (next 31 min.) 14-17-0  259 yards - 3 td's - 28 yards rushing (1 QB sneak  Wink)

(2009 #'s) against the same defense...same game plan.....

This is a kid that was in the hospital on October 10th & 11th with a collapsed lung and cracked rib.  He also got to prepare for the Bell Game with games (1st half only in each) against an Oberlin and a Hiram defense.  I'll give him some time to get adjusted.

He may not always be pretty, but he is a WINNER!

give credit where credit is due.

I finally finished watching my DVR version of the Monon Bell. A couple of highlights for me (a very neutral observer):

-5 guys signalling in the calls for Depauw? Really? 5 guys? (I know the "stealing signs" history but that's a bit over the top)
-The disdain between the announcers was humorous. Rob Doyle (former Depauw qb) and Joe Emmit (Wabash TV announcer) were cordial but the video shots told you all you needed to know with body language. Pretty funny.
-I thought spud D was pretty good. 39-50 for 380 is a pretty good stat line. Looked like plenty of zip on his ball to me. He threaded a seam pass to Koors after the last bash TD that had to be on the money.
-Hudson also made some pretty tough throws. That TD pass on the move to Chamblee with the defender all over him was perfectly thrown. Those swing/bubble passes are also diffcult to hit the WR in stride and he did a few times. Both Qbs played well.
-Turnovers and missed tackles was the big difference from my perspective.
-First time I have seen the bell up close (on TV). very cool game to watch. I have been to blackstock and hollett but never for a Monon game.

Congrats to both teams for making the playoffs. Good luck this week.

Wittle Wessee have a bad weekend?  Your team got flat outplayed.  From QB to D tackle.  Our QB ... broken ribs, collapsed lung ... a winner.  Wittle Wessee's QB?  Wessee says the Dick was somehow bruised when big bad Red and White tackle him too hard.  Wessee knows because he has no life and watches the Dick. Get a life.  Wessee ... go to the South Board and hide under some black and gold
  desert rock.

And by the by ... next year when (if ) you come to C'ville ... not sure what you will do? No $5 to park.  No correctness police to check your shirt for DePauw determined "bad" sayings.  No over the top goon squad.  No regulations on what and where you can eat or drink in a parking lot.

Now ... the secod half you got flat out OUT COACHED as well.  Wonder how Walker would have done ... had your "correctness" type administration not fired him and hid?  Your assistant better be updating his resume.  The job is not one of longevity.  Now how many new head coaches in the last 5 years?

My point of this tirade is that I am tired of your whine.  And I wanted to show you exactly the hand you are holding.  NOW:  lets move on to ILL Wes.  (a much better Wes).  And you Wessee ... go back to your very own board and try to tell the conference posters who have to put up with you exactly how DePauw plans NOT to be 8-3 after this weekend.

Anybody know about iwu?  looks like the visitor side is pretty small.  Hope they put in another stand to help out.  Close enough to Wabash to enable a large crowd to attend in red and white.  Note the kickoff is set at noon ... but that is Ill time I believe.  Everyone should make sure they note the time change.  It will be a great day.  Celebrate a very fine Wabash football season with some very fine players and gentlemen and root for it to continue.  When it does, I highly recommend UWW stadium.  First, to be the best you play the best.  Second, their facilities are grand.  Third their fans great fun.  Lets all be at IWU  ... have a terrific game with them and I hope they are enjoyable hosts ... and then on to Whitewater (again I hope).  But now the focus is IWU.  GO WABASH

Fripp52

The posts since the game just confirmed what I already knew.  Wabash students and alumni are a-holes.  Take a look at last year's posts after we kicked you a**es.  For the most part, we were objective and reasonable.  Wes is being objective for the most part and he is a fan.  Just like you guys.  But your posts are ridiculous.  And you want to know about another class move........take a look at the posts to Thomas More on the PAC thread from Wally and Wabash CPA, nice move.  Let me think back to last year......I think I personally wished you guys the best and sent some encouraging words your way before and during the Case game and then the Wheaton game.  What do we get from you, "just when you think you've scrored enough points, score some more, bury them.........".  That's class all the way and what I have grown to expect.  But, I already knew that - in 1983 when your candy ass fullback kicked me in the stomach.  Who kicks another player ?  Wabash players, that's who.  Who makes the choice to attend an all male college for four years ?  I have no idea how to describe those people.  See you next year.

wabco

Hey Fripp-boy

What was your candy ass doing on the ground to be stepped on?  You (in DePauw-esk speak) categorize it as a kick when it was a simply a run over your sorry but. Yet years later ... you still cry about it.  The DePauw way.   Live with it ... you got beat.  BEAT, BEAT, BEAT.  Go back to your board and try to lick your wounds ... which you will have to lick again after Saturday.

Now:  lets get to dscussing IWU.  From the newspaper, looks like they will have their first QB back (although sounds like their 2nd one is pretty darn good with different talents).  Also looks like their D line does a fine job and their O line is experienced.  Another Witt type contest exdept with perhaps greater focus in the pass?
