Yeah, but chew on this: in the five years you beat us, we went 17-22-1.  The one time we beat you, we went 6-2.  This year we are 9-1 (about to be 10-1)! ;D

(Shouldn't you be pissed about 1945 rather than 1982?  Or aren't we allowed to even come close?! :o)

NO!!!  We only beat you by 3.  Despite our wins over Dayton and Wheaton and a 10-0 season, the fact we only beat you by 3 kept us out of the playoffs  >:(

I'm cool about the 1945 game though  :)

Well, if you could only win by 3 over a team that finished 4-5, maybe the selection committee was right! ;)

Just kidding!!! :D

Schwami,

Most excellent signature!  Jim Amidon's article is a must-read for Wabash fans!

To the Wabash and DPU poster's.
The game is over! Wabash won this year. Congratulations. Let it go.There will be more "Bell Games" in the future.
It seems like this is such a great rivalry there is no need to smear each other over what has happened in the past. I don't know how long the series has gone but, I do know the Wabash is up by 1.
My point is , this is a closely contested game every year and the winner does not need to "whoff about the results."

To Bash and DPU good luck in the the playoffs and enemies can still show respect.

I just went back and watched the botched snap that may have prevented the Tigers from taking a 14-0 lead into the locker room a halftime. Weird. The center snapped it as if Spud were under center, then brought it back down, and winged it to Spud. Of course, by then, the D line was already applying pressure and the snap went awry rolling past Spud for about a 20 yard loss. Disaster of a play. I don't know what that center was thinking but I'm glad he had the mental lapse.

Of course, the guy in the office next to me is an IWU grad. What should I suggest as a friendly wager with him?

Yikes!!    Pat Coleman just posted that the d3 committee said nothing about seeding the brackets after the 4 teams that gave their names. I don't Know if I understand, but it would appear that nobody is going to know where they're going in Round 2 and beyond, I really can't believe this!! What am I going to do with my reservation to Whitewater??? Pat & Keith characterized the West region as a cluster. Now it looks like we have a giant cluster f*** As the man used to say--"Holy Cow"

Good luck WITT! Althought I won't be there this week, keep that Tenacious D going and you'll be okay to host another matchup next week.

For some reason I told a friend i'd go to the michigan/ohio state game, which as a Penn State fan I think I'd rather see an apocolypse then either one of those teams win
WE ARE.................PENN STATE!

The committee is full of it.  They know where people are playing in the first round which means that they had to have ordered this thing is some fashion or another.

After listening to the interview with the committee chair and her reasoning for at-large selection, having the chair say that they weren't going to disclose the last 3-4 teams out, and now that they aren't going to disclose the seeds...the committee took a big step backward this year, IMO.

How about: "Boss, if we win I keep my job; if you win you'll be so happy that I'll keep my job?" ;D ;)

Wouldn't that be the standard bet of Wabash and IWU grads? :P

Man, I'm gonna be in negative karma by Saturday if I keep this up! :D

Well Pat has posted entire brackets (including all later games), so the seeds must be established whatever the committee chair says.  Methinks she may be in over her head.

But I certainly agree that full disclosure has regressed.  I had (slight) hopes that they would progress to airing the FINAL regional rankings.

You'll have to go beyond good-natured sniping and slide into the gutter, after last weeks' Bell exchanges, Sir.  Being stuck in the shadows of Rynearson with mere memories of a disemboweled Huron nation and wolverines on the verge of extinction allows for sympathy slack when it comes to smack.  ;)

Right you are.  Personally, regardless of the gutless, perhaps even racist (the Hurons wanted the name kept, but the president caved to protests by descendants of tribes who enjoyed slaughtering Hurons - ya seen one Injun, ya seen 'em all) decision, I will always be a Huron.

Since the Chips beat Michigan State, who beat Michigan, who beat both Western and Eastern (as did Central), I'd have to agree that Central is the best team in the state this year.

(And I could never engage in some of the smack of the Monon Bell - while this may also get me in trouble, I respect both schools. ;)  But don't get me started on Millikin! ;D)
