So if Wabash is fortunate enough to find a way to win in Bloomington on Saturday, there is a chance the NCAA sends them to Witt?

Why publish a bracket if it my change.... I am confused.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Man, I'm gonna be in negative karma by Saturday if I keep this up! :D

You'll have to go beyond good-natured sniping and slide into the gutter, after last weeks' Bell exchanges, Sir.  Being stuck in the shadows of Rynearson with mere memories of a disemboweled Huron nation and wolverines on the verge of extinction allows for sympathy slack when it comes to smack.  ;)

CMU Chippewas - #1 in the State of Me-e-e-chigan.  ;D

Right you are.  Personally, regardless of the gutless, perhaps even racist (the Hurons wanted the name kept, but the president caved to protests by descendants of tribes who enjoyed slaughtering Hurons - ya seen one Injun, ya seen 'em all) decision, I will always be a Huron.

Since the Chips beat Michigan State, who beat Michigan, who beat both Western and Eastern (as did Central), I'd have to agree that Central is the best team in the state this year.

(And I could never engage in some of the smack of the Monon Bell - while this may also get me in trouble, I respect both schools. ;)  But don't get me started on Millikin! ;D)

Mr. Ypsi and cave2bens:

Speaking of Eastern and Western you guys, since you mentioned them, I had to mention this.  Driving back home from the Hope College game, I was listening to the end of the Western Michigan game on the radio.  The next day, I saw in the paper in the box scores that only 3200 people had attended that game.  I was shocked - 3200 at a DI game?!!!  That was the same attendance that Albion College had yesterday also for their game against Alma, which my brother had attended and told me they had a decent crowd.  It was actually the biggest crowd for Albion all season, which was also a shocker (but a good one) as it was the last game and Albion having a not so stellar season.  Now I know it was Eastern, but with a game against Western or even Central, you would expect them to have a more people than a DIII game.  Not a good sign for either MAC school.  Of course, Mr. Ypsi and I (and others) have discussed the unfortunate situation of EMU many times before on these boards.  How many years do you predict they give English?

Oops!  Sorry for the temporary diversion in conversation here, you NCAC guys!

Alas, I'm pretty sure the winner of IWU/Wabash (IWU, of course ;D) is headed to Whitewater.

Either "press one" or "press two."  ;D

So if I understand the esteemed, Washtenaw Warrior, long woolies will be a popular, gameday keepsake in Bloomington if the committee doesn't change tack?

I'll have to talk some smack to my coworker who went to EMU.  ;)

I'm a fan of Ron English and hope they give him several years to turn around a decades-long disaster.  But any further EMU discussion probably should be moved out of here, before the natives (mainly, for this week only, scum-of-the-earth LGs ;)) get restless!

Until I hear otherwise, I'm gonna assume that the d3football.com bracket is gospel truth.  If the NCAA starts messing with upcoming games, it is for sure a sign of the apocalypse.

You mean the conversation doesn't commence with him calling YOU 'boss'?

You, sir, are a disgrace to D3! :o

[Only joking, of course.  I taught there for 32 years, and had students who ranged the full gamut from could have been cum laude at Harvard to 'how the hell did you make it out of third grade?']

No.

But if Case and Witt both win, where will the game be played?

It would have to be Witt, right?  Witt was ranked ahead of CWRU in the RRs...I'm assuming that much didn't change.  But then again who really knows.  What a strange situation this all is.

Does this mean there will be no d3football.com pickems, because you can't be certain who plays who? :o :(

WHY won't the NCAA release the FINAL regional rankings?!  Have they not heard that 'transparency' is the 'in thing'?  Something to hide? :(

We know who plays who. Just not where.

Geez...it's a copout. Really. It's not like Mt. Union will ever go on the road this playoff season Nor should they until the Stagg Bowl. (I mean, you get some props for a rep, right?)

So if there a couple of upsets then they can change the bracket??
Wabash Always Fights!

DPU16Dad

I just joined the board so forgive my first post about what is now old news.

I was in Greencastle for the Monon Bell game and I just wanted to congratulate Wabash on a well-deserved victory.

I've never seen a game turn so completely on one play as this game.  For the first 28 minutes, DPU seemed to be in control, and I thought was destined to take a comfortable 14-0 lead into intermission.  But that bad shotgun snap killed their best drive of the day, Wabash's last minute drive to score before the half totally shifted the momentum, and the guys in red just obviously wanted it more in the second half.

I think the two teams were basically pretty evenly matched, but when one team is playing with a sense of desperation (win or the season is over) and the other one isn't, the psychological edge can be huge as we saw on Saturday.  When you play with urgency, you overcome adversity.  DPU didn't have the urgency, and so when the game shifted against them they basically had nowhere to dig down to overcome it.  Similar story to last year, when the incentives were on the other side.

Wabash has plenty of talented kids and I was impressed with the intensity of this great rivalry game.  I thought there was good sportsmanship shown by both teams --- as usual the hate is more in the stands and the kids on the field have plenty of mutual respect.

Good luck Wabash as you take on Illinois Wesleyan.

Of course, the guy in the office next to me is an IWU grad. What should I suggest as a friendly wager with him?

How about: "Boss, if we win I keep my job; if you win you'll be so happy that I'll keep my job?" ;D ;)

Wouldn't that be the standard bet of Wabash and IWU grads? :P

Man, I'm gonna be in negative karma by Saturday if I keep this up! :D

He is not, and never will be, my boss. I am sure of that.
