When is the new turf scheduled to be installed again?

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Bashbro-
I believe all of the proposed renovations that were put on hold last year are now scheduled to be complete for the start of the 2011 seasons for the affected sports teams.  Baseball facility ready for next spring (hallelujah), turf on Hollett, football practice fields, and soccer field ready for fall 2011.

Wally/Bashbro,

I think we have a real shot for turf on the game field by this next season!  Can't wait!

Bash seems to be doing very well as the recruiting season is winding down...keep'em coming...

Wally-is the new baseball stadium going to be plastic grass (artificial surface-to be politically correct) or the real thing? I vote for grass grass-if your infield doesn't have any range, you can let it grow, knee-high if necessary.

The press releases (both the original announcement in 2008 and the recent re-announcement) do not mention a synthetic surface for the new diamond.  The releases are very sure to point out the synthetic surfaces on the football and soccer game fields.  The lack of mention of a synthetic surface on the diamond makes me believe that there will be natural grass at the new diamond.  Hopefully they can mow a block "W" into center field for gamedays.   :)

Great things coming out of Hiram- the new coach is making an immediate impact on campus- Everyone knows Hiram's talent is better than last place.

Was checking out NCAC web site while waiting for footbll news.  If there were a mens all sports trophy, without considering the sports of baseball, golf, Lacrosse, tennis, and outdoor track which have yet to finish, the standings after 6 finished sports is:
1)Wabash    49
2)Gheny       43.5
3)OWU         40.5
4)Den           36.5
5)Witt           35.5
6)Ken            32
7)Woo           30
8)Obe            29.5
9)Puppies      16.5
10)Erlham           15

Should be interesting race to the final standings as the last 5 sports finish.

Baseball is to be played on grass, in daytime, with TWR and hot dogs for the fans.

I know you didn't forget to mention a big ol' Dari-licious shake.   :)

I agree that baseball is best served under a sunny, blue sky, but lights aren't the worst thing that midwest college baseball facilities could have.  Competition days are tight in the spring season, and there is often a lot of rain to dodge.  I think the fexibility to postpone games until the evening (or from the evening as the case may be) to avoid weather is a good thing.  That being said, I don't believe lights are planned for the new yard.

A Wally Wabash sighting on the football board.   That means that we are getting closer.
;)

We are getting closer!

My wish list for this season.

1.  Bell Ringing at Chapel on Saturday night
2.  Beat Witt (close second) - gonna be tough this season
3.  Hiram puppy dogs barking louder
4.  Bishops being better Bishops
5.  Lords offensive attack
6.  Wooster finding their way back to prominence
7.  Oberlin, giving a yeoman performance
8.  Big Red, coming up bigger
9.  Quakers ......errrrrrr

New Orleans Saints: Our sources tell us that the Saints may be hiring a current offensive coordinator out of the Pioneer Conference (D-IAA) in an unknown capacity.  We are trying to confirm more at this time.
