The Wabash world can't wait either--quiet intensity on how to get it done.  It will be a good one at your place.  See you on Saturday.

WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS!!

Wabash  D &  Wabash O gets it done by 2 TDs.   Wooster Band shines.

Wabash runs the table.  It stands repeating ... Wabash runs the table.

Wally,

You shouldn't throw stones while living in a glass house.  You often make fun of Tiger Up, yet all you Bashers have several sayings.  Wabash always...what now?

Although, I guess any saying with "lil Giants" in it would just sound silly and weak.

BashDad

oldguy:

"L'il Giants have balance in '05."
"L'il Giants concentrate on Wooster in week #7."
"L'il Giants concentrate on Wittenberg in week #8."
"L'il Giants concentrate on Allegheny in week #9."
"L'il Giants concentrate on Denison in week #10."
"L'il Giants concentrate on DePauw in week #11."

What is silly, or weak, about any of these "sayings?"

We'll see you in C-ville on the 22nd.

Hey Wabash guys.  Is the school named after the Wabash River or after the so called Wabash Tribes?

oldguy

BashDad,

Alright, start chanting those at games.  Then we'll see what they sound like.

BashDad

old guy:

Is their a need?  So far, "Hard Hat De.e.e.e,"  "It's another
Wabash College FIRST DOWN," and "Who are we--WABASH!" seem to be working, along with "Wabash Always Fights!"   Our L'il Giant mascot grows from some pretty neat history back to 1842--Wittenberg is not the only school in the NCAC with a long and storied past. For Wabash fans, though, that past is simply a prologue.

Good luck to the Wittenberg Tigers and the rest of the NCAC teams this week-end.  My best wishes to all for hard-hitting but injury-free football.

Really, most of the Schools in the NCAC has some good history.  Gheny has a National title and is typically a perennial in the conference.  Denison had Woody Hayes.  Oberlin had the Heisman.  Witt, Bash and Woo all have a long storied past.

wabco

My best recollection is that "Wabash"  is an American Indian phrase from the tribe which occupied the area which is now called the Wabash Valley and translates into English as:  "The Great Shining" ... in referece to both what is now called the Wabash River and also what is the present Wabash football team.

Also another Wabash College phrase for you Tiger Down people is:

OOOoooooo   WWWWaaaaaaa  WWWWWWaaaaa

Apone

Gotta love the every-so-slight animosity that carries over onto the d3 boards.  Wabash, Witt, and Wooster have a special rivalry that is healthy for the players competing on the field, as well as for our own sake of argument and debate.

As for Saturday, I know Darkside and myself will be in attendance for pre-game "festivities" as well as a large number of Wooster folk coming into town.
How many of you Wabash boys will be around?

Consider this a formal invitation to join us for some drink and convo.  Friendly crowd and there should be a number of the boys from last years team in attendance.  There is generally a gathering in the grass park area of the parking lot directly behind the stadium.  Wally, I believe I even over-heard some alumni brewing up some triple-bock if you were feeling particularly parched at any point.

BashDad

Apone:

Expect to see lots of Wabash folks in Wooster this Saturday.  Thanks for the invite to stop by--any late revisions of the weather forecast--earlier they were saying 40% chance of rain.

The Wooster football experience in '03 was fun--all except the score--looking forward to a revisit.

Wabash Always Fights!!

Woo-Wabash could be a good game, but I agree with an earlier post, Wabash by double digits.  Unfortunately, right now, it looks like Wabash will win the conference.  I hope Witt can pull it together and make a run.  We'll see.  Overall though, I don't like the NCAC's chances in the playoffs this season.

I could be (and hopefullay I am) wrong, but thats just my gut feeling.

Tiger Up Witt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  One more tuneup till the real season begins.

BashDad

oldguy:

Best to wait until the playoffs get here to spend time talking about it.  The NCAC does seem to be down, overall, this year, but I guess we'll see.  A lot of football to be played before the playoffs begin.

wally_wabash

"Unfortuantely it looks like Wabash will win the conference"??  What the hell is that supposed to mean??  As a conference, you want to send the best team to the playoffs.  Wabash has been the NCAC's best team (by far no less) through the first half of the season.  There is no question about that.  Why would it be unfortunate to send our best team as the conference's representative in the playoffs?

Witt making a run?  Cling tight to that one, chief.  That fantasy ends next Saturday.

Wally, is there still a challenge in place for a lil alum football game?   ;)

To Quote the immortal Scotty Mac:

"Put the ball down!  I don't care!  I'll play in the parking lot!!  WOA! WOA!  WOA!"

And as far as the real game goes:

"Let's go Scots!  Take their lunch money!"
