Wow! I want to say something clever here, but I think this speaks for itself.  Wow.

I cannot believe how much OWU has struggled the last few years.

Go Scots.  Less than 24 hours  ;D

The OAC Pick-Em's are open for business too for those willing to cross swords out of conference.  Please post picks by Thursday evening.

Believe it, DarkSide-D....when you really look at & into the program, it's not a shock by any means. The BEST in TEN years...I'd like to know what frosh class just got replaced by this years crop...I don't ever recall a recruiting class being put out there as THE BEST. I do hope it pays off in spades....or a Championship or....Stagg?

REMINDER - Anyone who hasn't gone to the NCAC pick-ems page and posted your selections for this weekends games.   Kickoff is tomorrow night with Wooster & BW.  Join the fun.

Aueagle -  I wish the best for your Bishops this year.   Here's hoping for a step-up year for the program!

Good luck to a young Bishops team. Not everything young is bad....Look at the Reds
Aroldis Chapman who seems to be pretty good for a young pup.

Thanks bashbrother....sometimes ya gotta go thru the fire to get respect...
Sept 18 is on my calender at Selby

Wheaton scrimage may be more guarded from the Wabash standpoint.  Understand the O line is pretty beat up from the fierce starter competition.  Some whoi are starter material will probably mnot see action.  Don't believe the starter O line for the first game will be there intact fro the scrimage.  Expect this will have fall off on new QB and RB execution.  Only know from Wabash side ... probably same might be true from the Wheaton side.  Lets keep injuries to 0.  Only point here is not to put too much into this scrimmage on a win/loss/dominance from either side.  Benefit is to two quality programs with depth being able to sort things out a little under quality/challenging game conditions and sort out improving and perhaps unheralded players under good testing conditions.

Good news:  weather should be great for playing and for watching.

I would like to join in rooting for OWU to get its engine going.  Don't lilke the "best class" quote, as it necessarily says negative things about the others ... who stuck it out and are back and trying to lead.  Like "one of the best".

Go Wabash

Wabco, what's the time and date of the scrimmage?

Saturday ... not sure of stating time ... suspect around 1

The Bishop schedule opens with a non-conference game against traditional rival Denison. The NCAC slate kicks off on Sept. 11 with a game at defending champion Wittenberg before the home opener against 2009 runner-up Wabash. NCAC rival Wooster comes to Delaware on Sept. 25 for a non-conference clash which will be the first night game in the storied history of Selby Field.

The above is from OWU's website.  Someone help me understand how a game with Dennison and Wooster can be non-conference games.  Maybe I have been gone too long.

"The best in a decade" may or may not mean anything.  We shall see.

Looking forward to being at Selby Sept. 25th.  Thought it was a conference game, but  first night game will still be sold out, I am sure!  10,000 crazy NCAC fans. Hope there are lights for the parking areas.

Wabco-

I agree, Wheaton has depth issues on both Lines and will likely not play starters too long. That said, both teams are trying to figure out starting qb's so these guys need a solid shot at competing without getting "hypothetically killed". It's a fine line but certainly the result of the scrimmage won't mean much either way. For those more informed spectators the individual battles will be fun to watch but the chance to give 2's and 3's experience against quality coaching/programs is one of the biggest benefits.

OWU and Wooster had been on the original NCAC schedule as an NCAC league game right up until Earlham left the conference.  Earlham's departure apparently created the single worst scheduling nightmare in the history of sport, and the the league's response was to take one of every team's 7 scheduled conference games and simply make it not count for league standings.  That's how OWU and Wooster will play a non-conference game.  The OWU/Denison game was actually scheduled as a non-league game before the Earlham departure (which is another rant for another time).
