Possibly..... I think either CMU or Wash U will take care of this speculation.

16 - That is a tough call.

Bashbro - here's an article.  Koop is 1 away from the NCAA D3 record - http://www.thepaper24-7.com/main.asp?SectionID=24&SubSectionID=23&ArticleID=28513  No mention of the team record for blocks in a season.

Another poll that would be interesting...  Who would you rather fight in a bar brawl... CJ Gum or Brad McKinley?   ;D

Is it Saturday yet???

interesting question...i might have to go mckinley (very begrudgingly though)  i once saw cj working out his forearms in the gym.  when asked why he was spending so much time on them, he said "i wanna be able to rip someone's throat out like rambo (the newest installment.)"  very scary to think about facing that guy in any kind of fight haha ;D

I am headed to Minneapolis to see Greenville play in the Vikings Metrodome on Friday night...Ambers leads the nation in rushing yards 1175 and TDs 14...he is 6th in Yards Per Carry...

I'll be there.

Pat,

It certainly was a pleasure to meet you in the Metrodome friday night...and having a chance to talk with you and of course meet my son upon clinching the UMAC Conference Championship with a night of 534 yards rushing was just wonderful...I should have joined you at the ST. Thomas game as the Bethel Royals were not quite playing up to my expectations...Kirchoff was QB there when my other son played for them and they were really putting on a show back then...

So glad to hear that you will be at the Wabash Witt game this coming weekend...My thinking is another truly great game as usual between these teams...If we had Lemond and Chamblee there is no question...but at this point should be a great game with no predictions...Hope we can "hold" the penalties down...

firstdown

The call was outrageous!  Football is about hard hits.  The ref in question out to be suspended or better yet tarred and feathered.

cave2bens

Only took 26.5 hours to download the game.  >:( and have to go to Marine Ball vs hearing Monon on 13th?  :-X

Well, after looking at the call under the magnifier, DS was robbed, DRW jobbed, the QB knobbed, and fortunately for some, Wally's spreads not mobbed.   ;D ;D

Wabash's punt block team has to be approaching some sort of NCAA records, doesn't it?  I searched and searched last night and I could not come up anything.

Are Koop's four (4) td's considered simply punt returns for TD's?

There is a separate record for blocked punt return for touchdowns. University of Chicago has five of them this year, tying a record set by Widener.

DePauw is 8-0 for the first time in program history? Really?

Here's to hoping they finish the regular season 9-1...and not because they lost to Austin.

And the referee confused "defenseless" with "didn't see DRW coming".  There's a difference.

I saw the hit.  I'm with you.

weren't paying attention when somebody came to hit you, quarterback or not.To me, defenseless means you are in the act of catching, throwing, engaged with another player, or making some other football-type move.  Defenseless does NOT mean you weren't aware of the guy coming to decleat you.  You are definitely in a position to defend your self from being knocked the hell out, you're just too dumb to realize that somebody is about to give you a concussion.  Stupidity should not be excused on the football field, let alone rewarded with a penalty on the opposition because you

This is hilarious and I agree 100%  ;D

DJ got robbed. This kid works too hard not to get recognized for his only pick 6 of his college carreer. I know it is a team game, but he should have gotten the credit.

Hey, that's something Wabash had done only three times before DePauw & Wabash went their seperate ways from the ICAC in 1998.  8-0 in 1980 before a Bell tie.  8-0 again in 1981 before the 4th ranked LG's lost the Bell game to Robbie Doyle & a first year coach named Mourouzis.  Then again in 1982, but no loss in the Bell game that year, instead a 31-6 to end a 10-0 year and a #6 ranking.

;)

But Wabash has done it a couple of time since then, no? Not knocking DePauw, I was just really surprised that in the 100+ years they've been playing they never have been 8-0. Good for them. I hope they choke in it in two weeks, but good for them.

wally:

Actually, this is not the first time that DePauw is 8-0 in their history.  Without having checked their all-time records on their website right now, as I recall, they had an undefeated team back in 1935.  I know that since I remember seeing a huge photo of that team at the DePauw athletic center when we played there "back in my day".
