Hiram still has an open date.

Either September 24th,

Adrian*
Carthage*
Castleton State
Catholic
Concordia (Ill.)*
Gallaudet
Husson
North Carolina Wesleyan*
North Central (Ill.)*
Utica
UW-Whitewater
Washington and Lee*
Wesley
Widener
Willamette...

Is Adrian your choice?

or October 22nd...

Birmingham-Southern*
LaGrange*
Millsaps*
Stevenson
Union
Wesley.

I think that Adrian is the best option for a winnable in-region game.  Maybe Concordia IL as #2.

In-region games are designated by the asterisk.

Hiram has a full schedule of 10 games, sept 24th is at Oberlin, and October 22nd is the bye date. If you wanted to see our field progress http://www.flickr.com/photos/hiramcollege/5739850007/in/set-72157626764682746

What is the outlook for conference champions in the NCAC this fall? Will it be Wittenberg, Wabash or someone else? :-\
13 time Division III National Champions

wabco

Raider    That is pretty easy. ER is the Wabash Coach.     Wabash.

A fun question is: what havoc the Dannie women athletes are going to bring to the "comfortable" world of the female athletic world of the NCAC?

With what teams have returning and the way the schedule lines up,  I believe that Wabash will come out of camp as the slight favorite to win the NCAC.   Wittenberg will be a close second pick.  That is how I am seeing things shape up.

Somewhat the same ole story in the NCAC as far as the Top 2.   3- 5 - We will most likely have Wooster, Gheny, and then things get a little blurry.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Wabash has GOT TO BE THE FAVORITE to win the NCAC.  How is Wittenberg in the the top 10 and Wabash isn't in the top 25? Wabash has almost it's whole team returning PLUS Wes and Wittenberg returns ONLY Mckee and Zoeller on offense and they loss 4 1st team all ncac defensive players, two All-Americans, and something like 7 or 8 defensive starters.

Here is how I see things on June 8th. (might change things around later when I do more research)

Wabash- only question mark is on the D-line
Wooster- Good young QB stud RB and nice defense
Wittenberg- Many questions but have Zoeller, McKee, and Hurtt Back for 2011
Alleghany- Gone is Sid Facaros and TJ Salopek but return a nice group
Denison- JH has the boys moving in the right direction
Hiram- I just have a feeling that these guys are about to break out however, they will miss Glenn Campbell.
OWU- The Supper Sophomores not so supper but better then Oberlin and Kenyon.
Oberlin- mostly because Kenyon has fallen on hard times
Kenyon- hard times for the Lords

Quality write-up Short -

I agree with it,  except I believe Witt will have enough in the stable to finish over Wooster.   Also,  the words "slight" and "close" in my last post, were an attempt at being humble.   Somewhere between Witt being a close second and getting monkey stomped in Crawfordsville is where my feelings really are.   ;)

If you have Wittenburg over Wooster it is on rep only. Wittenburg has VERY LITTLE experience returning.  Like ONLY McKee and Zoeller return from last years offensive starting line-up ONLY 2!  I Looked it up Witt returns 6 or 7 (if you count the Kicker) starters from the "Witt/Woo game".  A game Wooster sure have won.

Fair enough on the Rep Only comment -  for the most part that is probably right on.

Can't wait to find out how the 2011 Season turns out.

You said "Wabash has almost its whole team returning PLUS Wes".  To that I would add "and CJ".  (Both Wes and CJ are unexpected additional positives.)

Our D line has Zinsmaster and Clegg with starting and significant playing time.  Compliment with a break out of a couple of Sophomores (Texas man ... Whitford perhaps or Aquilar at 6'5" and 228 starting stats last year) ... and perhaps a move forward from our deep LB corps.  The D line will be there.

And the O line (usually taking longer to jell as a unit) are jelled.  While I would not generally favor tandum QBs ... our O has shown it does not miss a beat when either is brought in ... and each has just a little different bag of primary talents while being just fine in the others.  If this meshes as well as it did against the Dannies, this will be a positive headache for opposing Ds.

PLUS ... you have to love receivers Chamblee, Horn, Young, Wright and some more breakouts.  These are zip code receivers.

ER has been (historically) a stresser on reliance on a strong RB game.  What with QBs who run well and - hopefully either a RB breakout from existing or a Frosh stud ... with ER's proclivities ... I look to see a running game as well.

I like what we have and think it will be fun and exciting to watch and a mess to try to defend.  PLUS strong DBs and LBs and a D line which (if that is what we worry about?) I like our "issues".  I saw ER this past weekend and in response to "what does our Frosh look like?" (and I believe we are in the 50s ...) he (in typical ER conservative fashion) stated that he liked what we have signed in and there may be a few suprises.  Just ... no one get injured.

This is like the first week at Indy.  Lots of speculation ... lets get those cars going.

Nice post, Wabco, except you missed James Krause, w.ho had a nice season. Then there's the kid from Michigan City, whose name escapes me, who got  his jaw broken just before camp last year, but is in school and should contribute. In the passing game, don't forget the stable of tight ends, as DePauw apparently did in the 3d quarter, leaving Kelley alone by about 15 yards.
With Kelley back as a senior, and John Holm, the home run king, and Ryan Sosinski,I think that's a stable. It would be nice to get them the ball more than once a game- with 3 of the zip code people running around the backfield, it would be easy to see the TE open for a delay or two to shake them up.

Witt recruits include McKee's brother and Joe Germano, son of former Wabash assistant and CWRU head coach Pete Germano.

Wab 64 ... Just as I believe will happen this year ... my fault ... I simply took for granted and overlooked (as opponents will overlook) our quality at TE (until it stings them).  I think we have both quality ... importantly ... years of experience.  Krause ... he is a fine player with a good future this coming fall ... in a pack of very fine players.  What a nice problem ... no fall off no matter who is in ... some with suprilatives but all on their way to suprilatives.

Only two listed as frosh on last year's roster from Michigan City:  Austin Althoss 6'3" 195 WR and Alex Hirsch 6'4" 239 OL.   They grow them good sized in MC ... must be that lake Michigan water.

It looks like Ohio Wesleyan has only 26 of the original 55
from the "Best Class of The Decade" back for 2011.....
New uniforms might be on the field as well...Looks like
they might copy the Wabash all-red look....still no word
on the Bishop being on the helmet....
Hiram lands players from Mentor & Massillon Perry high school
programs is huge....Some of the best football teaching in the state.
With the field improvements, Hiram is moving...in the right direction.

My buddy in Columbus said NO new uni's in Delaware.....
Since The Vest will be looking for a job....He would look
good in Bishop red.....
