I dig the Hodges brothers wearing #1 and #2 - that could be a great combo at corner.

Perhaps I am misinformed, but I thought it was Wabash tradition for a senior to wear #1.

Remember, if it happens two years in a row, it's a tradition. If it happens three years in a row, "that's the way we've always done it..."

Going to make a pitch on this board about supporting Kickoff 2011. We have some great NCAC coverage this year, including a Q&A with Wes Chamblee. Worth the cost, we think, and D3football.com needs your support this year as much as ever. Please give us a look-see again. It comes out on Tuesday:

I have already purchased my Kickoff and I beseech my NCAC brethren (and sistren, as the case may be) to do the same. It's always worth the cost, regardless of how much coverage our teams/players/coaches get in the features.

Since the Kickoff has been around I don't enter a football season without buying two things: Kickoff and Dave Campbell's Texas Football.

I hope everyone here will support the site.

I already purchased Kickoff also. Obviously I have a vested interest in this years edition, but I bought it last year and was going to buy it this year even before I knew that #84 would be interviewed. I would not even think of going through a football season without D3 Football.com and I know that Kick Off helps keep it afloat. In my mind, more than a good reason to support it even beside the fact that it is awesome every year.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

The last 2 weeks of August mean two things:   the hay fever season is at it's height of discomfort. And Kickoff arrives so that I can spend at least two days in air-conditioned relief reading every word (twice for the NCAC). Thanks Pat, Keith, Ryan and the rest of d3.com!

Believe the Wabash/Wheaton scrimmage is set for Sept. 3 at Wheaton at noon.  If someone knows more or better, please correct.  Should be a chance to see the receiver corps in action and other items of interest.  Wheaton is always a good and worthy challenge as I believe we are for them.  Good team, well coached, good sportsmanship, good hosts.

In further explaination of my earlier post regarding the Wheaton scrimmage, I got it off the Wheaton footbnall web site:  http://athletics.wheaton.edu/news/2011/8/5/FB_d3fbpre.aspx?path=football

The new & improved Selby Stadium was done to bring in attraction's
other than just Bishop football. NCAA track championships, high school play-off
football and now pro sports at this historic stadium. I am all for this new revenue
stream for OWU...but, will it bring a better football product for the Red & Black?
I hope so.....http://blogs.owu.edu/connect2/2011/08/16/major-league-news/

Here is a question: My cousin's daughter is going to Hiram this fall, and other than I know Hiram does not
have a successful football program, does anyone have any thoughts on the school itself? I do know it costs approximately $38K per year and have around 1,100 students. :-\

Hiram is a very solid school....in a country setting, but very close to Kent (Kent State) and Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown. The ratio is about 55% woman/45% men.
The young lady will have an outstanding education from HC.

Perusing Kickoff '11...the product keeps getting better every year.  Tons of fantastic content as always.  It's an easy way to support the people we lean on for the best D3 coverage.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to not working...still have about 200 previews to read.   :)

Agreed, Wally. And congrats, Pat and Co. It's a terrific issue.

I totally agree, gentlemen. Unfortunately, I was able to read the interview with Wes (great copy) and my connection disappeared. everything else works fine on the rest of the website except the entry into Kickoff. arrgghh!!!!!

I'm going to get bupkis done the rest of the day, if not the rest of this week. Great job as usual. Kudos to all involved in the creation of the Kickoff!

There is still time to purchase Kickoff 2011.... I just did.    All the cool kids are doing it.

I have cleared my schedule for the rest of the day and now that the Hurricane is not going to destroy my week here in Florida, i will have time.

Thanks Pat & Co. for ALL you do for Div. III Sports!
