A spy broke through the Lords' perimeter, and before being dunked in the natatorium he transmitted the score: Carnegie-Mellon 35, Kenyon 14.

Good thing you can decipher morse code or we'd be hosed.

Thus far, the big two W's are justifying their ranking, Allegheny is taking a big step back, Oberlin is separating itself from the 'rest', DePauw is still struggling on offense with the new cast of characters, Denison's renaissance will wait another week, and Kenyon and Hiram are who we thought they were...

Out-gaining the Maroon's 3 to 1. Excellent!

10 penalties, not so good.

3 missed XP's, even worse.

Penalties and XP's could definitely matter in the last couple of weeks. Need to nip those things in the bud now.

42-7 at Stagg Field now.  This is a thorough dismantling of a team that was on the radar as a possible trouble spot on the schedule.  There's three missed PATs.  Gripe away on that.  Anything else should be off limits this week.  Reason: Forty-two to seven.

Oberlin whipped on the Puppies 27-7. Stats are quite even, though, but it looks like Hiram gained a lot in garbage time.

Another thing for next year that needs to be off limits is the thought that this Chicago "Bears" or "Cardinals" program is in the same league with this Wabash program.....  Every year, there is talk... and every year the same result.....  They are just not close to being there yet.   In the same way Wabash is just not in the Wheaton/N. Central or Mount/UWW's  league.....  yet

BashDad gets my "Mr Vegas" award for his bold prediction on the score from earlier....
Where does he get his intel....
Anybody got anything on the COW-OWU game at the Pap....

wally_wabash

Pick six for the LGs.  David Direnfeld gets the score.  Are those garbage time points ok, bashbro?    :)

Seriously, Wabash did work today.  Take Chicago lightly, and they can sneak up on you.  Do your job and you'll get a favorable result.  Wabash did the latter today.  Excellent road win for the LGs today.

Next up is Homecoming vs. Kenyon (non-league game).  WAF!

Through three games the one thing that has really stood out is the Wabash defense.  Wabash has generally been putting out solid defenses in recent history, but this group right now is operating at level that we haven't seen in a while.  The 2002 team that forced about 200 turnovers comes to mind.  The 2005 defense was also tremendous.  There's just something a little bit different about this group...different in the best way possible.  Coach Hammer has tapped into something new here and it's exciting as all get out to watch.

Wabash just took apart Chicago's potent offense and did so without the help of the centerpiece on that D.  That's awfully impressive.
