I don't get the vitriol aimed at Keith either.  1) He didn't even pick Wabash to lose the game.  2)  He took the time to preface the entire thing by saying that he WASN'T dissing the LGs.  Repeat: WASN'T dissing Wabash.

C'mon Defense....time is running out...

That 3rd & 5 run by Frongilo was a soul crusher.  Great effort to get to the sticks on that scramble.

On yet another note. IU lost at North Texas. Wabash the best team in Indiana?

Frongillo, Flagg & Terhune played very well for COW...
The Bishops need a solid week of work....
Can't wait to see the stats on this one
Final from The Pap
COW - 10
OWU - 6

As it stands now, with Wooster's injury issue, is Oberlin the third best team in the NCAC? They're at least in the team photo for #3.

Don't like to do the score comparison but it will be interesting to see how close they are against Witt next weekend, compared to Allegheny.

back to the drawing board...OWU and Wooster played well Defensively i thought...Offenses played shaky.

The_Bishop

Give a lot of credit to the Wooster defensive backs.  They were all over the receivers on every deep ball I saw.  Penalty yardage had to be 100+ yards per team.

Penalty Total from The Pap
OWU - 10/99 yds
COW - 10/72 yds
Did a glance at NCAC records &
didn't see anything for penalties
Looking at the stats for the Bishops
Total  Rushing Yardage - Net (-3)... That's  right..

Consider Wooster Soph QB Brett Frongillo for NCAC Player of the Week
21 Rush/92 yds...4.6 ave - 13/21..98 yds Passing
The kid comes in for Barnes and gets a win...he didn't back down.
Granted, I didn't see any of the other games, but Barnes might
have trouble getting his job back next year.
3785 watched at Pap...COW has outstanding attendnce numbers this year.
The Scot band was, again, great at halftime...Good they showed it on The Stream

Indiana State! Maybe Marian. I dunno about Wabash beating Indiana, but if Whitewater showed up down there, I think they'd at least cover the spread.

Brandon Hanna at Hiram had a better game than Frongilo. McKee probably had the best offensive game (7 for 179 and 3 scores). Kudos to the kid for stepping in and getting a win, but that game was about as ugly as offensive football gets.

Wally,

Ditto that!  McKee went nuts and should be the POW.  On another note, interesting that the Springfield paper calls their backup QB, Reed Florence, THE SECOND BEST QB IN THE CONFERENCE.  Anyone else see that?

Not to get ahead of ourselves but if Bash and Witt continue to pick up steam as the season goes on, that November 5th clash at Hollett Little Giant Stadium could be a classic with huge stakes on the table!!  Thankfully it doesn't fall on Fall break and thus the crowd would be strong!

BB16 - I think Springfield's fish wrap is about a decade behind the times.

Besides Belton: Mandel, Espionsa, Paulus, Barnes and Hanna are all quality signal callers. It's hard to tell with Hanna because he reminds me of Archie Manning with the Saints (take the snap and run for your life). It's a good QB league. (The above list discounting injuries, of course).

Certainly Zoeller is the class of the list but I do think if Zoeller got hurt it would be a big dropoff, much like Barnes with Wooster.

Something Wabash will need to work on as a team - Zoeller has taken three sacks in four games. Belton has taken 12 in three games. As Wabash saw in the Chicago game, if your QB is on the ground he can't use his weapons.

So what if Florence is the second best qb in the league (he isn't btw)? I'm not an Xs and Os guy, but based on my observation, you only use one qb at a time. How good your backup is doesn't mean diddly until you HAVE to call his number. Witt's backup QB may as well be Zach Hurtt. Doesn't matter until Zoeller can't answer the bell.
