You can tell the uncertainty in the poll by all of the "also receiving votes" tally. It's a wild, wacky year in D-3 underneath the Purple!

Man, you wabash guys are really upset over a newspaper article giving praise to a player for having success? why dont you  remove the stick and settle down, you're embarrassing yourselves.

No, it was a comment in a game story that was admittedly (by the author) a throwaway line that inferred something that was a bit outlandish.

The fact that I could name six QBs that may be the 'second best' in the NCAC put that to rest.

And if I recall, I heaped praise and accolades upon Zoeller, which is deserved. He is the best QB in the NCAC. Saying his backup is the second best is hometown conjecture at best and plain homerism at worst. Not that some Wabash fans haven't engaged in that, but if we do we also deserve to be called out for it.

(Listened to the Florida State game while doing some shopping and moving - now THAT'S a homer radio crew if I ever heard one...)

Chicago's Brizzolara was fun to watch this weekend.  The Wabash defense and special teams kept him bottled up all game however.  Sharing the spot light was Wes Chamblee.  He ran all over the field on that beautiful 97 yard punt return.

We are so past that issue Random Joe, but thanks for stopping by anyway.  errr.... or should I say... Mr. Florence.....   ;)

CORRECTION:   or should I say... Keenan.... you were a good player at Witt, no need to come on here and embarrass yourself.... with stick comments.

Wabash scored touchdowns passing, rushing, returning an INT, and returning a punt.  So that doesn't happen every day.  It was fun.

Also interesting from Saturday, the league PotW is Oberlin WR/QB/K Robin Witjes.  Mandel is out, so Coach Ramsey MacGyvered an offense this week with Witjes as the centerpiece.  Witjes threw for a score, rushed for 64 yards, and had 69 yards receiving with a score (I do not believe he threw his own TD pass).  Just for fun he also kicked an extra point.  That's some ridiculous utility.

I'm not sure what Mandel's status is for this weekend, but Oberlin is going to probably want him back for their trip to Springfield.

Also, while I generally like the updated look fo the NCAC webpage, I'm not liking the new stats page.  Kind of tough to sort, can't find any stats on team defenses or team special teams.  I'm sure it's all automated and easier/quicker for the stats person over there, but stuff is missing.  Just putting it out there suggestion box style.

Wally -   That information on Oberlin's WR/QB/K Robin Witjes would make a nice special interest story for D3Football.com

It's just the latest example of Coach Ramsey making the best out of the smaller roster that he has to work with at Oberlin.  He really does an outstanding job there.

Agreed,  I think it really highlights the unique nature of DIII Football as a whole, as I am sure you would be very hard pressed to find a similar stat line from any other NCAA Division.

If he did throw his own TD pass, I think the play is called the "Bugs Bunny"...

Hmmmmm....Random ... that is interesting.....the email listed on your account on here tells a different story....     keenan0425@xxxxxxxx.net and then you put that email into Facebook and bam..... OR you and Keenan Freeman simply share the same email, which is somewhat strange.

Nice try.

UPDATE:  Well he deleted his account, he didn't have to do that....  He had a great career at Witt in that Defense.   Would have been nice to have him on the board.  I remember my first post in 2003 ...I predicted Wabash would win a National Championship by 2005.....  boy, I sure had a bunch to learn  ;)

He got caught and turned tail. I agree he could have stayed - would love to get Witt insight from a recent player.
