Mount gets a sack and a fumble.... deep in their own territory to hold off ONU..... wow.... that was a close one a week after ONU loses to Musky.... what is up in the OAC?

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

The OAC is the OAC. A lot of good teams making everyone look ugly!

"my optimistic comments in the past few weeks, about Denison, OWU etc.   I think it is more of a case of me wanting a true quality mid-level NCAC team to step-up and establish itself.   A team that could threaten and even beat one or more of the top tier in certain years".............. bashbrother dreams of NCAC conference powerhouse parity

One week after Chicago got destroyed by Wabash...The Maroon's make halftimes adjustments and shut-down OWU
Ohio Wesleyan 1-4 (only win was Denison game)
Bishops still have a shot at a .500 season...

I'm growing more frustrated as each Saturday goes by.

Wes, as a DPU alum I would say you have every reason to be upset.  It seems like your team has lost it's sense of focus.  I pray it is still lost at Monon time...

The combined record (if my math is correct) of DPU's remaining opponents before the Bell Game is 4-15. Those four games are clearly winnable.

Jackson Kirtley started at QB today instead of Schweir and played the whole day.  15-32 for 141 & a pick.  It appears the kid can run pretty good, though.  He had 18 carries for 95 yards.  Still, only 284 total yards for the day.  4 turnovers, one of which was returned for a touchdown.  Two others deep in their own end, although one (the INT) was with 4 minutes left down by 2 scores.  Didn't get inside Centre's 30 in the first half.

I do think DePauw's defense might be pretty good.  Centre got 330 yds and the defense gave them 17 of the 24.  CC had been moving the ball in bunches previously.  I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but if this team can just find a way to get the offense in a rhythm, they're going to be a decent football team.  The D isn't the '85 Bears by any means.  They won't shut many people out.  They'll hold the decent teams in the teens.  The yardage numbers are pretty good against this defense.  The scoring number just isn't as good because of all the short fields they've been up against.  They've kept the offense in it every week this year.  Offense just can't take advantage of it.

Two weeks before Sewanee and 5 before the Bell.  Figure it out, fellas.

This wil be a tough year for the Tigers...lost lots. I think Jackson can be the guy...today was start #1 against a pretty good team...he just has to figure out how to come off his primary get in his progression...some times "running quarterbacks" take off when if they would stay in the pocket or roll out of trouble, they could make bigger plays...Tigers need to suck it up and get better each week...

My thoughts from today's game at Little Giant Stadium...

Offense was firing on all cylinders today in a way that I have not seen from them yet this season. Belton was making good decisions and good throws, hitting his receivers and showed his lightning quickness on a long touchdown run. Horn's touchdown reception was simply incredible as his strength just shoved the Kenyon defender to the ground. Little Giants tallied up 283 yards rushing...WOW and 545 yards of total offense. The running game this season has been stellar, with Vann Hunt, Tyler Holmes, and Derek Rowe all doing solid jobs. Troy Meyers, who was a defensive player last season, came in late in the game and looked really good. All in all a scary unit that can put A LOT of points up...

Despite getting the first shut out, Defense was a bit shaky today. I have to give a lot of credit to Kenyon's QB Dan Shannon....very good player...good presence in the pocket, quick release, etc. was 20-35 for 189 yards. Running attack was decent....the January kid that went in late in the game looked good (against 2s and 3s but still). Obviously where Kenyon really struggles is defensively....they just do not have guys that can compete with the likes of Wabash...or many other teams in the NCAC for that matter.

Exciting day in Crawfordsville. Always good to see some many alumni and their families back on campus to take in the Homecoming festivities. Looking forward to seeing the LGs exact some revenge next weekend against WashU

Bad luck! Case forces a fumble and returns it inside the 10. 10-9 Gheny with 45 seconds to go. CWRU with no time outs.

smed,

The Case v. Gheny game was more lopsided than the score indicates.

Case outgained Gheny 356-150, had 19 first downs to only 8 from Gheny, and dominated time of possession roughly 34 to 24 minutes.

139 yards worth of penalties for Case vs. only 10 on ONE call for Gheny (can you say HOME TOWN JOB???) kept Gheny in the game.
