Gatorsfan8,

That was a great breakdown of last years game. I'm not sure what it has to do with this years contest, but I am expecting a good game. Just about to hop in the car to head to Meadville.

Anyone else traveling, have a safe trip and we will see you there tomorrow!  8-)

It was quite a tremendous defensive effort, Mr. Luvara.
(your email address is visible...)

Your defense certainly did an admirable job keeping the game close.  Given that Salopek did play nearly the whole game, I'm not sure that you can claim that as an excuse; and even if that is a valid point, it's somewhat irrelevant to this year's game as Salopek is no longer around.  I'm not buying "changes on the two-deep" either (every team has those, dude).

With that said, I highly doubt that Wabash ever felt threatened in the second half; they had the game well in hand all along.  I stand by my statement that Allegheny has not proven that they are capable of actually BEATING Wabash or Witt, only that they're a little bit closer to it than the rest of the NCAC dregs, and this year 'Gheny appears to have taken a step back from 2009-10.

Bash in a romp.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

It really had nothing to do with this years game I was just correcting a mistake that was nothing me.  Have fun tomorrow, I might try to make the trip up but the snow forecast isn't helping me make that decision.

And ex-Tartan all I know is that if Gheny did take a step back CMU took a huge step back and I think this game will be a lot closer than people think. I definitely think we all can agree Wabash has a ton of more talent but the long bus trip might give them a sluggish start. And that is why they play the game right.  We we find out tomorrow.  Good luck to both teams.

I realize I'm coming in way late on this one, but as it applies to the Coaching situation at OWU, here's my take:

Let it go.  The Coach has endured through any and all circumstances except the NCAA playoffs.  This topic comes up several times a year on this board and it reaches only the few nerds like us who read and post.  Clearly, to make any difference, an organized protest has to take place and must be rallied by someone who has the cash to hold over the University's head.  If you find it somehow therapeutic to post about this stuff, well, I guess that's what this board can do for us, but I think you torture yourselves by making believe that someone in a higher position actually pays attention and cares.

He'll be there until someone tells you otherwise, so embrace him with the same zeal that you do the bishop.  Hollway has become the football mascot and a fixture within the athletic facade of the great school which bears the name Ohio Wesleyan University.

Very good post TU2698. But, just to give you the other side....
The staff at OWU does read this board...I've got the email from a coach who had a comment.
Many administrators check-in as well...I spoke to one at Selby about D3 content.
I've tailgated with parents & players who have read this board...
So, it's just not a few nerds....this is content many won't get in their sports page/web in College-Town USA...
Think of it as FOX News....Fair & Balance...well, most of the time.
I don't know if the Bishop Backers have a Donald Trump to risk money at a football program..but, OWU
people have been pro-active...and that's with "University Heads"...The numbers are growing  & so are the questions.
This is more than just money in regards to OWU football...it's infrastructure. Only Prez Rock can make OWU football great.
This board isn't therapeutic...I play golf for my therapy...this is about football. And I like to think we all play
to win...and when you don't win....do something about it or become Hiram. The Thunder went 0-10 not to
long ago. Enter Coach Land...boom, next thing I know the Thunder is 10-0, ranked a s high as #8 and in the playoffs.
How many more 0-10, 2-8 seasons would you guys have put up with. That nice stadium you have isn't for going 2-8.
Again, you're right. OWU is a great school...I just think you can have a great school that has great football.
Hey, I just had an idea...Dan Simrell would look good in Red & Black...

36 degrees and a light snowy mist in Meadville......  I am so glad they have turf now.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I'm pumped. This is going to be a good one. I can feel it.

Gator radio guys called Wabash "QB U" in the NCAC. Mentioned Knott, Huff, Hudson and Belton. Hmmmm.....

At least they're zooming in and out, unlike last week in Chicago.

Haters, man. Total haters.

Back to the game: gotta love that Chamblee means twenty yards just by virtue of him standing on the field for a kickoff.

One minute into the game at Gambier....
OWU - 7
Lords - 0

Two big throws by Espo, set-up the short pass for the TD..
