BashDad,

That's a great post with a lot of different twists!  I would hope some of those twists turn our way!  ;). I'm going to say the beloved Cardinals come out on top, 31-13.

Weather forecast calls for rain.  Who does that favor, if anyone?

CardinalAlum,

The turf will be top notch but I think rain/wind would help NCC.  Bash will need a nice balance tomorrow on O and we'll need to throw it effectively.

Field won't be sloppy, it'll be wet though. Both teams can run and that won't be affected by rain. I always think that receivers have the advantage since they know where they are going. However, if the ball is too wet Belton may not be able to deliver it as he normally does. In that case, I hope Perk has a lot of dry towels ready!

It rained for a particularly one-sided game LAST november at Hollett. Remember? Anyone?

BashDad

Rain won't have much to do with it, though that 21mph wind in the forecast might. Yeesh.

Yes,  If the passing game, or threat of it, is knocked down by the wind,  it will hurt Wabash.  We are going to need to be able to pass to move the football.   Not that our running game will not get some yards, we are just not going to be able to run it the length of the field, like NCC could.

Bottom line is, adverse weather favors the team that has a good running game.

I'm going with closer than the experts think.  NCC will grind.  That's what they do.  But I don't think the big gains will be there as frequently as they're used to.  I expect NCC to do a little more punting than they're average.

It feels to me like Wabash will ahve a chance to win this game late. Either they make a play to win or they won't make it and lose.  Belton has to be great.  He doesn't turn it over and that has to continue.  The Wabash front 5 has to be great.  If Wabash can run it just a little, they'll be in good shape.  If they can't run it, they have almost no chance of winning unless NCC beats themselves.

Still have not seen anything definitive on Belton's injury last week?  Does anyone know anything at all about his knee?
