Back from the game and post-game celebrations.  I really don't have much to add to the observations shared by others though I will say one thing.  I have never been more proud of our players and fans than today.  When things were tough, they stayed together, didnt get down, and embodied the spirit behind the slogan Wabash Always Fights.

The Spirit of Sap Wilson lives in Tyler Burke.

I have renamed my son Tyler.  Hope he won't mind.   ;D

Kudos as well to the broadcast team. Great quality and the announcers did a great job. Very professional production. I hope there is video in Alliance next week!

As I posted on the CCIW board, kudos to Joe Emmick, the play-by-play announcer. He's been doing it since his student days (class of '92) and is as polished as ever. Sad to see him moving on the Elmhurst College (he was/is the Dean of Advancement for Wabash and will be leaving that post 1/1/12). Always has made the games that much more enjoyable.

I've been punked twice now trying to get to a Wabash game, and had to witness my nephew's basketball team get destroyed twice today when I could have witnessed this victory. I'm not nearly as knowledgable about Little Giant football as many here, and haven't seem them play in person in a couple of years now. I'm seriously considering making the trip next week to Alliance from Da Region. The sixth grade basketball schedule worked in my favor for once - no game on Saturday.

2)Cardinals ... you like apples?   How about them apples !!!

Lets Go Big Red Lets Go !!!    OOOOooooo WWWWWWaaaaa WWWWWaaaaa

As one who thought NCC would prevail today, I'll eat those apples and ask for a second helping. Wow! Incredibly gutsy performance from Wabash. That was just remarkable.

Good luck in Alliance next week.

My compliments to the D3football.com people for the first paragraph in the article named "Big-game rallies."  It is a simple paragraph mentioning our motto, "Wabash Always Fights!"  Some of our opponents make fun of it or just don't understand that it is a motto that Wabash has used for 92 years running.  It has special meaning to me because that's the way I always played sports (long before I had ever heard of Wabash College) and it is what I have used as a source of strength when my personal life had a few setbacks.  Tyler Burke showed he was truly a "Little Giant" today...and somewhere looking down from above is a man named Ike Williams (Wabash, Class of 1906) who coined the motto in the fall of 1919.
Repulse them, repulse them!  Make them relinquish the ellipsoid!

Actually, I'm sure there are many CCIW fans who think 'statute' (as in a ban on Burke ;D) might have been the right term! 8-)

I've posted that I thought NCC would win handily today, and then win in Alliance.  At half time, and even after 3 quarters, I thought I was lookin' good - obviously, I was wrong.  I'll take a serving of apples (or crow); anyone got a good recipe for the two together? :-[

My bracket was already in trouble (since I had IWU downing Monmouth, St. Thomas, and Del Val); after today I don't know if I will even bother checking how far down I have sunk (I had NCC losing in the Stagg).  Since NCC will obviously not be preventing Purple Stagg 7, GO LGs!

Someone mentioned this game being available on archive - how about DVD?  This could join the Bell game collection!

And kudos to Chamblee and Horn for stepping up their game in the 4th quarter as well.  Somebody had to catch those passes!

And a shout out to my homeboy Najar - he was laying some wood today!

The game definitely needs to be available on DVD.  Hopefully the NCAA restrictions on such practices will not prevent that from happening.  Definitely one for the ages.

The game is being replayed right now (8 pm) Eastern on Hometown Sports. 7 mins left in 2nd quarter at this time.

It's also available on the on demand section at the bottom, split up by halves. I went ahead and skipped to the 2nd half.  ;)

I'm still all agog. Couldn't stop talking about it at dinner, even though I didn't see it! Just amazing.
