The regional rankings are coming from the home office in Indianapolis, BB16.  Run over and find out what's taking so long.   :)

BB16,

Good luck with that one.  I was excited enough when they posted pictures with the new uniforms.  I have no doubts the field is going to suffer on Saturday but as far as I know, this will be the first 'swamp' game of the season.

I'll do some checking for you, though.

I agree with having a home field advantage.  Thats why they schedule games the way they do.  It has to do with having more fans in most cases.  Being able to sleep in their own beds.  Even adjusting the length of the grass depending on thier team speed.  Not having a mud pit as a home field.  That is way past home field advantage.  That is just dangerous to play on.  I hope the field is in playing condition this year.  As always.

WabashCPA - sorry forgot to comment, wow, what a memory, I am impressed.  Don't recall the Bell game that year... >:(  That stung!

I was guarding campus the night before that game (and the morning of!) so all I remember is I was seriously hung over that day.  I seem to recall a fight in the stands (surprise) and Jeff Voris basically having his way with us.  I hope you didn't mean that my comment stung, because that wasn't my intent.  I'm only a fan - I'll never criticize the players laying it out on the field.  I just seem to remember that we were ranked very highly in the North region that year before the Cumberland game.  We coulda been a contender!

Oh, and Vince, baseball absolutely does NOT suck.  Bring out the brooms - going for the sweep tonight!

Bashdad:
Thanks.  Also congrats on last weekend and good luck again this one.  Yes, we'll have a tough time down at Albion, but HOPEfully, we can knock them off!  We still have a chance. ;)

WAY TO GO SOX!!!!!!

Was very impressed with Barbara Bush.  She was not there just for show.  Did anyone else notice she was keeping book at both game 3&4.  Only a real fan keeps book at a game.  Kudos to Barbara.  Her son, now that is a whole other issue.

Sorry, I know this not a D3 football subject.  After 88 years something needed to be said.  As always.

While you are doing GO Go SOX ... here is some deep "why did I want to know that?"

Beginning next week, the SOX will get new green seats in the upperdecks to go with the new seats they put in this summer between 1st and 3rd.  Then the outfield will be made green.

(The skinny is that they went cheap with their seating a few years ago and the cheap seats are exactly that ... and getting worthless.  Now they are finally getting the seating the "big boys" in the business have ... which last a/la Cubs, Brewers, Astros, Dodgers, Giants, Baltimore, etc.)

Just thought you would find that interesting ... and because the SOX were winning and the instasllation refurb could not start until season's end ... and it gets very cold and snowy up in the upper decks in Chi Town in the winter ... the cost to do this work went a good deal higher.

WallyFS4

Wabco,

I'm sure Jerry will be happy to pay the extra.  Is there a more scary seat in sports than the 1st row of the upper deck.  You don't want to jump up to quick.  You could end up in the 1st row of the lower deck.  How great is it to be talking about the Sox in late October.  As always.

Typical slooowww Thursday...  Wabash fans may want to pack their "longies" as we venture to the "mudhole" in Meadville tomorrow--latest Saturday forecast says low 30's early in the day with temp around game time around 50 under mostly sunny skies, wind 5-10.  Weather today and tomorrow will not be conducive to cutting the grass, in case they were of the mind. ;)  Could be worse.

Can't wait until the game--need to take the bad taste out of my mouth from last year's Allegheny game in C-ville! The L'il Giants seem focused and bent on doing just that. Talk about "unfinished business!"

Good luck to all in the NCAC on Saturday--my wishes to all for good hard-hitting, and injury free, football.

WallyFS4 and Wabco:

So neat to see the whole city of Chicago come together for the Sox--even the Cubbie fans!!  Needless to say, the Sox really represented both the City and major league baseball well!

Li'l Giant

As a lifelong Astros fan I can't see much positive in getting spanked in 4 games. But, I can at least take comfort in knowing that it wasn't the Cubs breaking Chicago's world series streak.

I have been told that the Oberlin field hockey team preferred to forfeit its game vs. Bates rather than come out for the second half and play in the cold. Perhaps one of you NCACers can confirm whether  this conduct is not atypical for Oberlin.

There it is.  Pretty weak to bus 800 miles and then quit at halftime.  I guess the coach had her reasons.

I don't think that it's an indictment of Oberlin (that football team stuff was a long time ago), but that's not right. I wonder how her team felt about the decision.
