If you have followed the OAC board over the years, you would know that on occasion I just might get some close to the bone perspective/information that hardly anyone else could have.  No way to prove my point since Pilato is no longer on the team, but I am very comfortable with the previous statement.

I go to Minnesota for a few days and I miss some good stuff on the board.

BashDad -   I agree with you on Barnes,  I just don't think he is durable enough at this level.   Great talent, but takes too many hits.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

To be fair, I think a lot of people could make the same observation about Belton...he has been bounced in and out of games (plural) each of the last two seasons.  It's a hard game.  I think with experience you get better at protecting yourself, but even the biggest of dudes can get hurt when they start running around with that football (Hudson in '09).

Why is this not on the front page of D3football.com? What are we doing here, fellas? I gotta read the OAC board for news?

Someone get some source quotes! I want answers!

Really skunks? Dlip can't imagine that to be the case unless there was an unknown injury? To say the kid was not even going to be in the running for the starting job after last season is a pretty strong statement. Dlip feels for the kid.

The truth of the matter is exactly what hscoach said.  Murray was a good D3 RB.  Steady, but not a game changer.

2nd and 26 at MTU02    Jeremy Murray rush for 46 yards to the MTU48, 1ST DOWN MTU (AJ Akinribade).

I believe this was a game changer against us last year.  After two punts and Wabash's defense having significant momentum,  I believe this single play was huge.   While I give plenty of credit to your fine offensive line, if you watch the video, Murry made a bunch of that happen.

That play by Murray was a back breaker, for sure. Momentum, changed.

As far as skunks, there's also selective disinformation perpetrated by insiders to keep the masses happy. Again, yummy kool aid!  ;) Just use a napkin to be sure the purple mustache is gone before going into work!

Referring to yourself in the third person makes me think you are either Rickey Henderson or The Jimmy.

Wabash reports tomorrow fellas!  Wabash Always Fights!!!

BashBacker#16

Looks like the Wabash roster has some updates on heights and weights.  Maybe some significant, maybe not but the board is super slow.  Always like to see what guys come in at.  Looks like Akinribade is +15, Buresh +10, Gibson up to 205 and listed back at WR.  The kid from Apache Junction is 6'5 221.  OL guys look pretty good across the board.  Not sure Chase has ever been 186 so hopefully he'll be more durable.  Frosh Justin Woods has good size for a safety at 6'1 190.  Zurek is 239 - hopefully in shape.  What a contrast at running back with Hunt and then Holmes 6'1 225 and possibly Zurek.  Hopefully Porter can contribute too.  Laird must be very lean at 6'2 179.  Frosh class seems like some very good size across the board.

BB,

What's your take on Austin Burton from your Mounties?  Can't hurt to have a kid that dominated in 3 sports entering the program.  Is he good enough to make some noise this season?

BashBacker#16

WabashCPA - I actually do not know a lot about him aside from like you said, a very good 3 sport athlete.  He was one of our Indiana North/South All Stars too and lives in my parent's neighborhood haha.  I am not sure if we will play him at Safety (may be undersized) or Corner (not sure how he runs) - I will definitely be keeping an eye on him.

A few other highlight clips came up:  Easy to find the links on Google or Youtube

Patrick Tuck-Snelling - the LB/DL from McAllen TX
Justin Woods - the DB from Northmont
Tyler McCullen - the LB/DL from Scola's H.S. in Arizona

Mount Union at Franklin to kick off the season.  I know the tailgating will be crazy! Hope the game is a good one. Does losing these two guys have an impact for the 1st game of the season more so than later?

No....Pilato was NOT going to be in the mix for the starting QB spot.  The Murray loss could have some short term impact, but Mount has proven over time that it is a reload program, and it's always "next man up".

I can see where losing Pilato wouldn't have an impact (I've never heard of him), but what are the chances that Piloto comes back, skunks??   ;)
